  1. Place your cookware centrally on the chosen burner's grate.
  2. Push down and turn the corresponding control knob counter-clockwise to the maximum flame setting (large flame symbol).
  3. The automatic electronic ignition will spark, lighting the gas. Hold the knob down for a few seconds after ignition to allow the thermocouple to heat up and activate the flame failure safety device.
  4. Release the knob. If the flame extinguishes, repeat the process.
  5. Adjust the flame intensity by turning the knob between the maximum and minimum flame settings (small flame symbol).
  6. To turn off the burner, turn the knob clockwise until it clicks into the 'off' position.

Note: The ORKLI thermocouple is a safety device that automatically cuts off the gas supply if the flame accidentally extinguishes.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your gas hob.

6.1. Daily Cleaning

  • Allow the hob to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Wipe the tempered glass surface with a soft cloth and a mild detergent or glass cleaner. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, which can scratch the surface.
  • Remove any spills immediately to prevent them from drying and becoming harder to clean.

6.2. Burner Components and Grates

  • The cast iron grates, burner caps, and flame spreaders can be removed for cleaning.
  • Wash these components in warm soapy water. For stubborn stains, a non-abrasive scrub brush can be used.
  • Ensure all components are thoroughly dry before reassembling them on the hob. Incorrect reassembly can affect burner performance.
  • Periodically check the burner holes for any blockages and clean them gently with a fine wire or needle if necessary.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your hob, consult this section before contacting a service technician.

  • Burner does not ignite:
    • Check if the gas supply is open.
    • Ensure the hob is plugged into an electrical outlet and the power is on.
    • Verify that the burner components (caps, flame spreaders) are correctly assembled and clean.
    • Hold the control knob down for a sufficient duration (a few seconds) during ignition.
  • Flame is irregular or yellow:
    • Clean the burner holes to remove any food debris or blockages.
    • Ensure the burner caps are correctly seated.
    • Contact a qualified technician if the issue persists, as it may indicate an incorrect gas/air mixture.
  • Gas smell:
    • Immediately turn off the gas supply.
    • Open windows and ventilate the area.
    • Do not operate any electrical switches or appliances.
    • Contact a qualified gas technician immediately.
