1. Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe installation, operation, and maintenance of your Troy Lighting F6166 Juniper 6-Light Chandelier. Please read this manual thoroughly before beginning installation and retain it for future reference.

The Juniper Chandelier features a hand-worked iron frame with a Gold Leaf finish and six off-white hardback linen shades, designed for indoor use.

2. Safety Information

  • WARNING: Risk of electric shock. Disconnect power at the fuse box or circuit breaker before installation or servicing.
  • All electrical connections must be in accordance with local codes, ordinances, or the National Electric Code (NEC). Consult a qualified electrician if you are unfamiliar with proper electrical wiring connections.
  • This fixture is designed for indoor, dry locations only. Do not install in damp or wet environments.
  • Ensure the mounting surface can support the weight of the fixture (approximately 11 pounds).

3. Package Contents

4. Setup and Installation

Professional installation by a qualified electrician is recommended.

  1. Turn off power: Locate the circuit breaker or fuse box and turn off the power to the junction box where the fixture will be installed.
  2. Prepare mounting: Secure the mounting crossbar to the junction box using the provided screws. Ensure the crossbar is firmly attached.
  3. Adjust chain length: Determine the desired hanging height for your chandelier. Use pliers to open and remove excess chain links if necessary. Thread the electrical wires through the chain and the canopy.
  4. Wire connections:
    • Connect the fixture's black wire to the supply circuit's black (or live) wire.
    • Connect the fixture's white wire to the supply circuit's white (or neutral) wire.
    • Connect the fixture's ground wire (bare copper or green) to the supply circuit's ground wire and to the mounting crossbar's ground screw.
    • Secure all connections with approved wire nuts and wrap with electrical tape for added safety.
  5. Attach canopy: Carefully push the canopy up to the ceiling, covering the junction box and wiring. Secure it to the mounting crossbar using the provided screws or nuts.
  6. Install bulbs: Screw six (6) E12 Candelabra Base Incandescent bulbs (maximum 40 watts each) into the sockets. Do not overtighten.
  7. Restore power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker or fuse box.
  8. Test fixture: Turn on the light switch to ensure the chandelier is functioning correctly.

5. Operating Instructions

The Troy Lighting F6166 Juniper Chandelier operates via a standard wall switch connected to its electrical circuit. There are no additional controls on the fixture itself.

  • To turn the chandelier ON, flip the connected wall switch to the 'ON' position.
  • To turn the chandelier OFF, flip the connected wall switch to the 'OFF' position.
  • If connected to a dimmer switch (purchased separately), adjust the dimmer to control the light intensity. Ensure any dimmer switch used is compatible with incandescent bulbs.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and appearance of your chandelier.

  • Cleaning:
    • Always disconnect power before cleaning.
    • For the metal frame, wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, polishes, or solvents as they may damage the finish.
    • For the linen shades, gently dust with a soft brush or a lint roller. Spot clean with a slightly damp cloth if necessary, but avoid saturating the fabric.
  • Bulb Replacement:
    • Turn off power to the fixture and allow bulbs to cool completely.
    • Carefully unscrew the old bulb from its socket.
    • Screw in a new E12 Candelabra Base Incandescent bulb (maximum 40 watts). Do not exceed the recommended wattage.
    • Restore power and test the new bulb.
