Liftmaster 3 Ton Aluminum and Steel Low Profile High Lift Floor Jack

Model: 6930SG

Important Safety Information

Read and understand this entire manual before operating the Liftmaster 3 Ton Aluminum and Steel Low Profile High Lift Floor Jack. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury or property damage. This floor jack is designed for lifting purposes only. Always use appropriate jack stands to support the vehicle after lifting. Never work under a vehicle supported only by a floor jack.

  • Rated Capacity: Do not exceed the rated capacity of 3 tons (6000 lbs).
  • Surface: Always use the jack on a hard, level surface. Avoid uneven ground or soft surfaces.
  • Stability: Ensure the vehicle is stable and cannot roll before lifting. Engage the parking brake and block wheels.
  • Jack Stands: Immediately after lifting, place appropriately rated jack stands under the vehicle's designated support points.
  • Overloading: The dual pump quick lift hydraulic system is equipped with a safety valve to prevent overloading beyond rated capacity. Do not attempt to bypass this safety feature.
  • Maintenance: Regularly inspect the jack for damage or wear. Do not use if damaged.

Setup

Before first use, perform the following steps to ensure proper operation and safety.

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the floor jack from its packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage.
  2. Handle Assembly: Insert the handle into the handle socket on the jack. Ensure it is securely seated.
  3. Check Fasteners: Verify that all nuts and bolts, especially those on the casters, are securely tightened. Loose fasteners can affect stability and operation.
  4. Bleeding the Hydraulic System: Air can become trapped in the hydraulic system during shipping. To bleed the system:
    • Turn the handle counter-clockwise to fully open the release valve.
    • Pump the handle rapidly 10-15 times without a load.
    • Turn the handle clockwise to close the release valve.
    • Test the jack by lifting it to its full height and then lowering it. Repeat if necessary until the jack operates smoothly.

Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for safe and effective use of your floor jack.

  1. Prepare the Vehicle: Park the vehicle on a hard, level surface. Engage the parking brake and place wheel chocks on the wheels that will remain on the ground.
  2. Position the Jack: Locate the vehicle's manufacturer-recommended lifting points. Position the jack saddle directly under the lifting point. The jack's ultra-low 2.95 inch (75mm) entry point is ideal for lower body frame cars, while its high lift range up to 19.68 inches (500mm) accommodates pickups and SUVs.
  3. Lift the Vehicle: Turn the handle clockwise until the release valve is fully closed. Pump the handle to raise the vehicle. Lift the vehicle only high enough to place jack stands.
  4. Secure with Jack Stands: Once the vehicle is at the desired height, immediately place appropriately rated jack stands under the vehicle's designated support points.
  5. Lower the Jack: Slowly turn the handle counter-clockwise to open the release valve and lower the jack until the vehicle rests securely on the jack stands. Remove the floor jack.
  6. Remove Jack Stands and Lower Vehicle: When work is complete, raise the vehicle slightly with the floor jack to remove the jack stands. Then, slowly turn the handle counter-clockwise to lower the vehicle completely to the ground. Remove the floor jack and wheel chocks.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your floor jack.

  • Lubrication: Periodically lubricate all moving parts, including the pivot points and casters, with light machine oil.
  • Hydraulic Fluid: Check the hydraulic fluid level regularly. If low, add high-quality hydraulic jack oil. Do not use brake fluid or other non-approved fluids.
  • Cleaning: Keep the jack clean and free of dirt, grease, and corrosive materials.
  • Release Valve Threads: If the release valve becomes stiff or causes the jack to lower too quickly, apply a small amount of oil to the threads of the release valve mechanism. This can help ensure a smooth and controlled lowering action.
  • Storage: Store the jack in a clean, dry place with the ram fully retracted to prevent corrosion and extend seal life.
