5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Cocking the Crossbow

Use the provided rope cocking device to safely and evenly draw the string back until it locks into the trigger mechanism. Ensure the Nock Sensor and Anti-Dry Fire system engage correctly.

5.2 Loading an Arrow

Place a 22" Headhunter arrow onto the rail, ensuring the nock is properly seated against the string and the arrow is fully engaged with the retention spring. The Nock Sensor will confirm correct arrow placement.

5.3 Aiming and Firing

6. Maintenance

  • String Waxing: Apply lubrication wax to the crossbow string every 10 shots to prolong its life and maintain optimal performance.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the crossbow for any signs of wear or damage, especially the string, cables, and limbs.
  • Storage: Store the crossbow in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your crossbow, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Inaccurate Shots:
    • Check if the scope is securely mounted and properly sighted in.
    • Ensure arrows are not damaged and are correctly nocked.
    • Verify that the string is adequately waxed and in good condition.
  • Dry Fire Prevention: The Nock Sensor and Anti-Dry Fire system are designed to prevent accidental dry fires. If the crossbow does not fire, ensure an arrow is properly seated and the safety is disengaged. Never attempt to force a shot.
  • Cocking Difficulty: Ensure the rope cocking device is used correctly. If using an optional crank device, ensure it is properly installed and maintained.

For persistent issues, contact Barnett customer support or a certified archery technician.
