4.1 Unpacking and Placement

  1. Carefully remove the generator from its packaging.
  2. Place the generator on a firm, level surface outdoors, ensuring adequate clearance for ventilation and exhaust.

4.2 Adding Engine Oil

The generator is shipped without engine oil. You must add the recommended oil before first use.

  1. Locate the oil filler cap/dipstick. The EU2200i features a bigger oil filler opening for easier access.
  2. Add the recommended engine oil (refer to specifications for type and quantity) until it reaches the upper level mark on the dipstick.
  3. Securely replace the oil filler cap/dipstick.

4.3 Adding Fuel

Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 86 or higher.

  1. Ensure the generator is on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  2. Unscrew the fuel tank cap.
  3. Carefully pour gasoline into the fuel tank, avoiding overfilling. The tank volume is 0.95 gallons.
  4. Securely replace the fuel tank cap.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Starting the Engine

  1. Turn the fuel cap vent lever to the ON position.
  2. Turn the engine switch to the ON position.
  3. If the engine is cold, move the choke lever to the CHOKE position.
  4. Pull the recoil starter grip lightly until resistance is felt, then pull briskly.
  5. Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke lever to the RUN position (if used).
