2. Safety Information
Operating any power equipment requires adherence to strict safety guidelines to prevent injury or damage. Pay close attention to all warnings and precautions.
2.1 Carbon Monoxide Hazard
Generator exhaust contains carbon monoxide (CO), a colorless, odorless, poisonous gas that can kill in minutes. The Honda EU2200i is equipped with Co-Minder, which automatically shuts down the engine if CO levels become dangerously high near the generator. However, this system is not a substitute for safe operation.
- NEVER operate the generator inside any building, garage, basement, crawlspace, or other enclosed or partially enclosed area.
- Always operate the generator outdoors, far away from windows, doors, and vents that could allow CO to enter occupied spaces.
- Ensure adequate ventilation around the generator.
2.2 Fuel Safety
Gasoline is extremely flammable and its vapors are explosive. Handle fuel with extreme care.
- Store gasoline in an approved container in a well-ventilated area, away from ignition sources.
- Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine off and cool. Do not smoke or allow flames or sparks near the generator or fuel tank.
- Wipe up any spilled fuel immediately.
2.3 Electrical Safety
- Do not operate the generator in wet conditions.
- Ensure the generator is properly grounded.

3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking and Inspection

3.2 Adding Engine Oil

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Starting the Engine
- Ensure the generator is on a level surface and away from any obstructions.
- Turn the engine switch to the "ON" position.
- If the engine is cold, move the choke lever to the "CHOKE" position.
- Pull the recoil starter grip slowly until resistance is felt, then pull briskly. Repeat if necessary.
- Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke lever to the "RUN" position.
4.2 Eco-Throttle System
The Eco-Throttle system automatically adjusts engine speed to match the load, improving fuel efficiency and reducing noise. To activate, slide the Eco-Throttle switch to the "ON" position. For applications requiring full power immediately, set the switch to "OFF".
