1. Introduction

The BACtrack C6 Keychain Breathalyzer is a professional-grade personal alcohol tester designed for accuracy and convenience. Utilizing BluFire Fuel Cell Sensor technology, it provides reliable Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) estimations. This device offers both standalone operation and optional wireless connectivity to the BACtrack App on your smartphone, enhancing your experience with features like ZeroLine technology and BAC tracking.

2. Safety Guidelines and Important Information

For accurate and safe use, please observe the following:

• Do not operate machinery or drive a vehicle after consuming alcohol. The BACtrack C6 is an estimation tool and should not be used to determine if you are fit to drive.
• Always allow at least 15 minutes after your last drink or meal before testing. Residual alcohol in the mouth can lead to inaccurate readings.
• All breathalyzers, including BACtrack devices, require periodic recalibration to maintain accuracy. Refer to the Maintenance section for more information.
• Keep the device out of reach of children.

4. Getting Started (Setup)

4.1. Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
2. Slide the battery cover open.
3. Insert the included AAA battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
4. Close the battery cover securely.

4.2. Downloading the BACtrack App

For full functionality and smartphone connectivity, download the free BACtrack App:

• For Apple iPhone users, search for "BACtrack" in the Apple App Store.
• For Google & Samsung Android device users, search for "BACtrack" in the Google Play Store.

4.3. Pairing the Device (App Mode)

To use your BACtrack C6 with the smartphone app:

1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
2. Open the BACtrack App.
3. Turn on your BACtrack C6. The device will automatically attempt to connect to the app.
4. Follow the on-screen prompts in the app to complete the pairing process.

5. Operating Your BACtrack C6

The BACtrack C6 offers two modes of operation: Standalone Mode and App Mode.

5.1. Standalone Mode

In Standalone Mode, your BAC results are displayed directly on the C6's screen without requiring a smartphone connection.

1. Press the power button to turn on the device.
2. Wait for the device to warm up and display "BLOW".
3. Follow the proper testing technique (see Section 5.3).
4. Your BAC result will be displayed on the device screen.

5.2. App Mode

In App Mode, your BAC results are wirelessly transmitted to the BACtrack App on your smartphone, unlocking additional features.

1. Ensure your BACtrack C6 is paired with the app (see Section 4.3).
2. Open the BACtrack App on your smartphone.
3. Press the power button on the C6 to turn it on. It will connect to the app.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions in the app and the device prompts.
5. Follow the proper testing technique (see Section 5.3).

Key App Features:

• ZeroLine Technology: Estimates the time until your BAC is 0.00%. This feature helps you understand how long it takes for alcohol to leave your system.
• Guess Your BAC: Compare your perception of your BAC to the actual reading, helping you learn your limits.
• Track Your Drinking: Review past test results to understand how alcohol affects your body under different circumstances.
• Call an Uber: For your safety, the app provides a direct link to call an Uber if your BAC is above 0.00%.

5.3. Proper Testing Technique

For accurate results, proper blowing technique is essential:

1. Attach a clean mouthpiece to the device.
2. When the device displays "BLOW" (or the app prompts you), take a deep breath.
3. Blow steadily and continuously into the mouthpiece for approximately 5 seconds until the device beeps or indicates completion. Do not stop blowing prematurely.
4. Wait for your result to be displayed.

6. Maintenance and Calibration

6.1. Cleaning

• Wipe the exterior of the device with a soft, damp cloth.
• Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
• Mouthpieces should be replaced regularly, especially if shared.

6.2. Recalibration

Over time, all breathalyzers require recalibration to maintain accuracy. BACtrack recommends recalibrating your C6 every 6-12 months, or after approximately 200-300 tests, whichever comes first.
