3. Package Contents

Upon unpacking your Illy Iperespresso Home X9, please ensure all the following items are present:

4. Setup

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the machine and all accessories from the packaging. Retain the packaging for future transport or storage.
2. Placement: Place the machine on a stable, flat, and heat-resistant surface, away from water sources and heat. Ensure adequate ventilation around the machine.
3. Water Tank Filling: Remove the water tank from the machine. Fill it with fresh, cold drinking water up to the MAX fill line. Do not exceed the MAX line. Reinsert the water tank securely into its position.
4. Initial Rinse: Before first use, perform an initial rinse cycle. Plug the machine into a grounded power outlet. Place a large cup under the dispenser. Press the espresso button to run water through the system without a capsule. Repeat this process 2-3 times to clean the internal components.

5. Operating Instructions

1. Power On: Plug the machine into a power outlet. The power indicator light will illuminate. Wait for the machine to heat up; the indicator light will stop blinking when ready.
2. Fill Water Tank: Ensure the water tank is filled with fresh, cold water.
3. Insert Capsule: Lift the capsule lever and insert an Illy iperEspresso capsule into the designated slot. Close the lever firmly until it clicks into place.
4. Place Cup: Place your desired cup or mug on the drip tray under the coffee dispenser.
5. Select Coffee Size:
   • Press the small cup button for a standard espresso shot.
   • Press the large cup button for a longer espresso or coffee.

   Note: The machine allows you to program your preferred volume for each button. To do this, press and hold the desired button until the desired volume is dispensed, then release. The machine will remember this setting for future use.

6. Brewing: The machine will begin brewing. The LED light will illuminate the cup during dispensing.
7. Capsule Ejection: After brewing, lift the capsule lever to automatically eject the used capsule into the internal collection drawer. Close the lever.
8. Power Off: To turn off the machine, press and hold the power button until the lights turn off, or simply unplug it.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Illy Iperespresso Home X9 machine.

Daily Cleaning:

• Drip Tray and Capsule Drawer: Empty and rinse the drip tray and used capsule collection drawer daily. Wash them with warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly.
• Water Tank: Rinse the water tank daily and refill with fresh water.
• Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

Descaling:

Descaling is crucial to remove mineral buildup and maintain machine performance. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage. It is recommended to descale every 3-6 months.

1. Prepare Descaling Solution: Use a descaling solution specifically designed for coffee machines. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for mixing with water.
2. Empty Machine: Ensure the water tank is empty and the used capsule drawer is clear.
3. Fill Tank: Pour the descaling solution into the water tank.
4. Run Cycle: Place a large container under the dispenser. Start a brewing cycle without a capsule. Allow the machine to dispense the entire tank of descaling solution.
5. Rinse Cycles: After the descaling solution has run through, rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water. Run at least two full tanks of fresh water through the machine to rinse out any remaining descaling solution.
