3. Setup and Assembly
3.1 Handle Assembly
- Attach the lower handle to the mower deck using the provided bolts and knobs. Ensure it is securely fastened.
- Connect the upper handle to the lower handle, aligning the holes and securing with the quick-release clamps.
- Adjust the handle height to a comfortable operating position and tighten the clamps.
3.2 Grass Collection Bag Assembly

- Assemble the grass collection bag by attaching the fabric bag to the frame.
- Lift the rear discharge flap on the mower.
- Hook the grass collection bag onto the mower's rear discharge opening. Ensure it is firmly seated to prevent grass clippings from escaping.
3.3 Battery Charging and Installation

- Insert the 40V Lithium-Ion battery into the charger.
- Plug the charger into a standard power outlet. The LED indicator on the charger will show the charging status.
- Allow approximately 150 minutes for a full charge.
- Once fully charged, remove the battery from the charger.
- Open the battery compartment on the mower and slide the charged battery into place until it clicks.
- Insert the safety key into its slot. The mower will not operate without the safety key.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Adjusting Cutting Height

The mower features 6 adjustable cutting heights. To change the cutting height:
- Ensure the mower is turned off and the safety key is removed.
- Locate the cutting height adjustment lever on the side of the mower deck.
- Pull the lever outwards and move it to the desired height setting (1-6).
- Release the lever to lock it into position.
4.2 Starting and Stopping the Mower

To start:
- Ensure the battery is installed and the safety key is inserted.
- Press and hold the safety button on the handle.
- While holding the safety button, pull the bail lever towards the handle. The motor will start.
- Release the safety button, but continue to hold the bail lever to keep the mower running.
To stop:
- Release the bail lever. The motor will stop, and the blade will cease rotation.
- For complete power disconnection, remove the safety key and the battery.
4.3 Mowing Tips
- Mow only in daylight or good artificial light.
- Avoid mowing wet grass, as it can clog the mower and reduce cutting efficiency.
- Overlap cutting swaths slightly to ensure an even cut.
- For best results, mow in straight lines.
- Empty the grass collection bag regularly to maintain optimal performance.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
- Always remove the safety key and battery before cleaning.
- Clean the mower deck and blade area after each use to prevent grass buildup. Use a brush or cloth; do not use water directly on electrical components.
- Wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth.
5.2 Blade Care
- Inspect the blade regularly for sharpness and damage. A dull or damaged blade can affect cutting performance.
- If the blade is dull, it can be sharpened by a qualified service technician.
- If the blade is bent or cracked, it must be replaced immediately. Use only genuine VonHaus replacement blades.
5.3 Battery Storage
- Store the battery in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- For long-term storage, charge the battery to approximately 50% capacity.
- Do not store the battery with the safety key inserted in the mower.
