6.2 Sensitivity Adjustment

The TEK-Point Pinpointer offers three adjustable sensitivity levels to optimize detection for various target sizes and ground conditions.

  1. With the device powered on, quickly press and release the power button to cycle through the sensitivity settings.
  2. Each press will change the sensitivity level, indicated by a specific number of beeps and/or vibrations:
    • One beep/vibration: Low Sensitivity
    • Two beeps/vibrations: Medium Sensitivity
    • Three beeps/vibrations: High Sensitivity
  3. Select the appropriate sensitivity based on your detection needs. Higher sensitivity is suitable for smaller targets or less mineralized ground, while lower sensitivity helps reduce false signals in highly mineralized areas.

6.3 Target Detection and Pinpointing

Once powered on and sensitivity is set, sweep the tip of the pinpointer over the area where a target is suspected. The device will emit an audible alert and/or vibrate with increasing intensity as it approaches a metal object. The 360-degree detection field allows for efficient scanning from all angles.

6.4 Waterproof Use

The TEK-Point Pinpointer is designed to be fully submersible up to 6 feet (1.8 meters). Ensure the battery cap is securely tightened before any underwater use. After use in saltwater or dirty conditions, rinse the device with fresh water.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

  • After each use, especially in wet or dirty environments, wipe down the pinpointer with a damp cloth.
  • For saltwater exposure, rinse thoroughly with fresh water to prevent corrosion.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the device's finish or internal components.

7.2 Storage

  • Store the pinpointer in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • If storing for an extended period (more than a few weeks), remove the batteries to prevent leakage and potential damage to the device.

7.3 Battery Replacement

When the device's performance diminishes or it fails to power on, it is time to replace the batteries. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 5.1.

8. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Device does not power on.Dead or incorrectly installed batteries.Replace batteries with fresh AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
