1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe installation, operation, and maintenance of your Elk Home Delphine 14-Light Chandelier. This modern/contemporary style chandelier features a satin brass finish and is designed for indoor use only. Please read all instructions carefully before beginning installation.

2. Safety Information

WARNING: Risk of Electric Shock. Disconnect power at the fuse box or circuit breaker before installation or servicing.

  • All electrical connections must be in accordance with local codes, ordinances, or the National Electric Code (NEC).
  • Consult a qualified electrician if you are unsure about the installation process.

3. Package Contents

Verify that all components are present before discarding packaging materials.

  • Mounting Hardware Kit (1) - Includes mounting plate, screws, wire nuts, chain, and canopy.

Note: Fourteen (14) A19 medium base (E26) bulbs, up to 60 watts each, are required and are NOT included with this fixture.

4. Setup and Installation

Professional installation is recommended for this hardwired, ceiling-mounted fixture.

  1. Prepare for Installation:
    • Turn off electrical power at the main fuse box or circuit breaker.
    • Clear the work area and ensure you have all necessary tools (screwdriver, wire strippers, ladder, etc.).
  2. Attach Mounting Plate:
    • Secure the mounting plate to the junction box in the ceiling using the provided screws. Ensure it is firmly attached.

  3. Adjust Chain Length:
    • Determine the desired hanging height for the chandelier. Adjust the chain length by removing links as needed.
    • Feed the electrical wires through the chain and canopy.
  4. Make Electrical Connections:
    • Connect the fixture's ground wire (usually bare copper or green) to the house ground wire.
    • Connect the fixture's hot wire (usually black) to the house hot wire (black).
    • Connect the fixture's neutral wire (usually white) to the house neutral wire (white).
    • Secure all connections with wire nuts and wrap with electrical tape for added safety.
  5. Secure Canopy:
    • Carefully push the wires into the junction box.
    • Raise the canopy to the ceiling and secure it to the mounting plate with the provided screws.
  6. Install Bulbs:
    • Screw fourteen (14) A19 medium base (E26) bulbs into the sockets. Do not exceed 60 watts per bulb. LED bulb compatible.

  7. Restore Power:
    • Turn the electrical power back on at the main fuse box or circuit breaker.

5. Operating Instructions

The Elk Home Delphine Chandelier is operated via a standard wall switch. It is designed to be dimmable, allowing you to adjust the light output when connected to a compatible dimmer switch (sold separately) and using dimmable bulbs.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: To clean the fixture, ensure power is off. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents as they may damage the finish.
  • Bulb Replacement: Always turn off power before replacing bulbs. Allow bulbs to cool completely before touching. Replace with A19 medium base (E26) bulbs, not exceeding 60 watts.
