Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the proper use, maintenance, and care of your Shoei Neotec II Flip-Up Motorcycle Helmet. Designed for optimal safety and comfort, the Neotec II incorporates advanced features for an enhanced riding experience. Please read this manual thoroughly before using your helmet to ensure correct operation and to maximize its lifespan.
Safety Information
Your Shoei Neotec II helmet is designed to meet or exceed the DOT Safety Standard FMVSS 218. Adhering to the following safety guidelines is crucial for your protection:
- Always wear a helmet that fits properly. An ill-fitting helmet may not provide adequate protection in the event of an impact.
- Never modify your helmet. Any alterations to the shell, liner, or retention system can compromise its protective capabilities.
- Do not use solvents, gasoline, or other petroleum-based products to clean your helmet, as these can damage the materials and reduce protection. Refer to the Maintenance section for proper cleaning instructions.
- Replace your helmet immediately after any impact, even if visible damage is not apparent. The helmet's protective structure may be compromised.
- Ensure the chin strap is securely fastened and adjusted snugly under your chin before every ride.
- Be aware of your surroundings. While the helmet provides protection, it does not eliminate all risks associated with motorcycling.
Setup
1. Initial Fitment
Upon receiving your helmet, ensure it fits snugly without causing pressure points. The helmet should not move freely when you shake your head. If it does, consider a different size or adjust the interior padding if applicable.
2. Chin Strap Adjustment
- Place the helmet on your head.
- Fasten the ratchet closure system securely under your chin.
- Pull the strap to tighten until it is snug but comfortable. You should not be able to pull the helmet off your head when the strap is fastened.

Operating Instructions
1. Opening and Closing the Flip-Up Mechanism
The Neotec II features a versatile flip-up chin bar. To open, locate the release button (typically on the front lower edge of the chin bar), press it, and lift the chin bar upwards until it locks into the open position. To close, firmly pull the chin bar down until it clicks securely into place.
2. Visor Operation
The clear outer visor can be opened and closed manually. For the internal sun shield, locate the slider mechanism on the side of the helmet and slide it forward or backward to deploy or retract the sun shield.

The Neotec II is equipped with adjustable vents for airflow control. Locate the intake vents on the chin bar and forehead, and the exhaust vents at the rear. Slide the levers to open or close them as desired for optimal ventilation.

Maintenance
1. Exterior Cleaning
Clean the helmet's exterior with a soft cloth and mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents. For stubborn dirt, dampen a cloth and let it sit on the affected area for a few minutes to soften the grime before gently wiping.
2. Visor Care
Clean visors with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use harsh chemicals. Allow to air dry or gently wipe with a microfiber cloth. Avoid scratching the visor surface.
3. Interior Liner Removal and Cleaning
The interior comfort liner and cheek pads are removable for cleaning. Gently detach them according to the instructions provided with your helmet's specific model. Hand wash with mild soap and cool water, then air dry completely before re-installing.
4. Storage
Store your helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use a helmet bag to protect it from dust and scratches.
