2. Adjusting Tripod Height
To adjust the height, release the leg locks on each leg and extend them to the desired length. Securely fasten the leg locks. For additional height, extend the center column by loosening its locking knob, raising the column, and then tightening the knob.
3. Attaching Your Camera/Camcorder
- Locate the quick-release plate on the tripod head.
- Release the quick-release plate lever and remove the plate from the tripod head.
- Attach the quick-release plate to the bottom of your camera or camcorder by screwing the mounting screw into the device's tripod socket. Ensure it is finger-tight.
- Align the quick-release plate with the tripod head and reinsert it, ensuring it clicks securely into place. Lock the quick-release plate lever.
Operating
1. Using the 3-Way Fluid Pan-Head
The 3-way fluid pan-head allows for independent adjustments of pan (horizontal rotation), tilt (vertical rotation), and portrait/landscape orientation. Each axis has a dedicated locking knob or handle.
- Pan Adjustment: Loosen the pan locking knob (usually at the base of the head) to rotate the camera horizontally. Tighten to secure.
- Tilt Adjustment: Loosen the tilt handle to adjust the camera's vertical angle. Tighten the handle to secure.
- Portrait/Landscape Adjustment: Loosen the side knob to tilt the camera for portrait orientation. Tighten to secure.
2. Utilizing the Dual-Bubble Level
The dual-bubble level helps ensure your camera is perfectly level for straight horizons and accurate compositions. Adjust the tripod legs and/or the head until both bubbles are centered within their respective indicators.
3. Transporting the Tripod
Before transport, remove your camera, collapse the center column, and retract all leg sections. Secure all leg locks and head adjustments. Place the folded tripod into the provided carrying bag for protection and ease of transport.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the tripod with a soft, dry cloth after each use to remove dust and dirt. For stubborn grime, use a slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Lubrication: The fluid pan-head is factory-lubricated and generally does not require additional lubrication. If movements become stiff, consult customer support.
- Storage: Store the tripod in a cool, dry place, preferably in its carrying bag, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Inspection: Periodically check all screws, knobs, and leg locks for tightness. Tighten any loose components. Inspect rubber feet for wear and tear.
