This drive supports Ultra HD 4K playback and comes with Cyberlink software for enhanced media experience.

Setup
1. Physical Installation
Step 1: Prepare your computer.
- Turn off your computer and disconnect the power cord.
- Open the computer case according to your computer's manufacturer instructions.
Step 2: Install the drive.
- Locate an available 5.25-inch drive bay.
- Slide the LG WH16NS60 drive into the bay until the front bezel is flush with the computer case.
- Secure the drive with mounting screws on both sides.

2. Cable Connections
Step 1: Connect the SATA data cable.
- Connect one end of the SATA data cable to the SATA data port on the back of the drive.
- Connect the other end to an available SATA port on your computer's motherboard.
Step 2: Connect the SATA power cable.
- Connect a SATA power cable from your computer's power supply to the SATA power port on the back of the drive.

3. Software Installation
After physical installation and cabling, close your computer case and reconnect the power cord.
Turn on your computer.
Insert the Cyberlink software disc into the drive and follow the on-screen instructions to install the necessary playback and burning software. Alternatively, download the latest software from the LG support website.
Operating the Drive
1. Loading and Ejecting Discs
- To open the disc tray, press the eject button on the front of the drive.
- Place the disc label-side up onto the tray, ensuring it is seated correctly on the center spindle.
- Gently push the tray back into the drive, or press the eject button again to close it.
- To eject a disc, press the eject button or use the eject function within your operating system or media software.
2. Disc Compatibility
The LG WH16NS60 drive is compatible with a wide range of disc formats:
- Read/Write Compatible: Blu-ray Disc (including BDXL, M-DISC), DVD (including M-DISC & DVD-RAM), and CD family.
- Special Features: Supports 3D Blu-ray Disc Playback and Ultra HD 4K Playback.
3. Media Playback
- Use the installed Cyberlink software or other compatible media players to play Blu-ray movies, DVDs, and audio CDs.
- The drive features noise reduction during movie playback for a quieter viewing experience.
4. Data Burning
- Utilize the Cyberlink software to burn data to compatible Blu-ray (BDXL, M-DISC), DVD (M-DISC, DVD-RAM), and CD media.
- The drive includes a 4MB buffer under-run prevention function to ensure reliable burning.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning the Drive
- Keep the disc tray clean and free of dust. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the tray.
- Do not use liquid cleaners directly on the drive.
- Avoid inserting damaged or dirty discs, as they can harm the drive's lens.
2. Disc Handling
- Always hold discs by their edges or the center hole.
- Store discs in their cases to prevent scratches and dust accumulation.
- Do not expose discs to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
Drive Not Detected
Symptom: The operating system does not recognize the drive.
Solution:
- Check all SATA data and power cable connections to ensure they are secure.
- Verify that the drive is properly seated in its bay.
- Check your computer's BIOS/UEFI settings to ensure the SATA port is enabled.
- Try connecting the drive to a different SATA port or using different cables.
Disc Not Reading
Symptom: The drive cannot read a disc or reports an error.
Solution:
- Ensure the disc is clean and free of scratches or smudges. Clean with a soft, lint-free cloth if necessary.
- Verify the disc type is compatible with the drive (e.g., Blu-ray, DVD, CD).
