Setup and Installation

Installation Steps:

1. Turn Off Power: Locate the circuit breaker or fuse box and turn off the power to the junction box where the fixture will be installed.
2. Prepare Mounting Plate: Attach the mounting plate to the junction box using the provided screws. Ensure it is securely fastened.
3. Assemble Support Rods: Determine the desired hanging height. Connect the appropriate combination of 6-inch and 12-inch support rods to the horizontal bar and then to the canopy. The fixture includes 2-6 inch and 4-12 inch stems. Additional stems are sold separately.
4. Wire Connections:
   • Connect the fixture's black wire to the household's black (hot) wire.
   • Connect the fixture's white wire to the household's white (neutral) wire.
   • Connect the fixture's ground wire (bare copper or green) to the household's ground wire and to the mounting plate's ground screw.
   • Secure all connections with wire nuts and wrap with electrical tape.
5. Mount Canopy: Carefully push the wired assembly up towards the ceiling, aligning the canopy with the mounting plate. Secure the canopy to the mounting plate using the provided screws.
6. Install Glass Shades: Gently attach the four glass shades to the light sockets on the horizontal bar. Ensure they are seated properly.
7. Install Light Bulbs: Screw in the appropriate light bulbs (not included) into each socket. Do not exceed the maximum wattage.
8. Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker or fuse box.
9. Test Fixture: Turn on the light switch to ensure the fixture is functioning correctly.

Note on Sloped Ceilings: This fixture includes a solid brass 90-degree hang straight swivel for sloped ceiling installations, allowing the fixture to hang level.

Operation

Once installed and powered, the Innovations 214-BK-G71 Island Pendant operates like any standard light fixture. Use a wall switch (not included) to turn the lights on and off. This fixture is compatible with most standard dimmer switches, provided the installed bulbs are also dimmable.

• Bulb Type: Standard base (E26)
• Maximum Wattage: Refer to the label on the fixture for specific maximum wattage per socket. Exceeding this can cause overheating and damage.

Maintenance

• Cleaning:
  • Always disconnect power before cleaning.
  • Wipe the fixture with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or polishes as they may damage the finish.
  • For glass shades, remove them carefully and wash with mild soap and water, then dry thoroughly before reattaching.
• Bulb Replacement:
  • Ensure power is off and bulbs have cooled before replacing.
  • Unscrew the old bulb and screw in the new bulb, ensuring it meets the specified type and wattage.
• Inspection: Periodically check all connections and mounting hardware for tightness.
