Setup

1. Unpacking and Placement

Carefully remove all components from their packaging. Place the loudspeakers in their desired positions, ensuring they are on a stable, level surface or securely mounted on speaker stands.

2. Mounting on Speaker Stands

1. Extend the legs of the Auray SS-4420 Steel Speaker Stand to a stable width.
2. Adjust the height of the stand to the desired level, ensuring the locking pin is securely engaged.
3. Carefully lift each Thump12A loudspeaker and place its pole-mount socket onto the stand's mounting adapter. Ensure the speaker is seated firmly and securely.

3. Connecting Audio Sources

The Thump12A features an integrated 2-channel mixer with Vita preamps and Wide-Z technology, allowing connection of various sources.

• Microphones: Connect a microphone to either Input 1 or Input 2 using an XLR cable.
• Instruments: Connect a Hi-Z instrument (e.g., guitar, bass) directly to Input 1 or Input 2 using a 1/4-inch TS cable.
• Line-Level Devices: Connect line-level sources (e.g., mixer, media player) to Input 1 or Input 2 using an XLR or 1/4-inch TRS cable.

4. Power Connection

1. Ensure the loudspeaker's power switch is in the OFF position.
2. Connect the supplied power cord to the AC inlet on the rear panel of the loudspeaker.
3. Plug the other end of the power cord into a grounded AC power outlet.

Operating

1. Powering On/Off

To power on, ensure all input levels are turned down, then flip the power switch to the ON position. The front panel LED will illuminate. To power off, turn down all input levels, then flip the power switch to the OFF position.

2. Adjusting Levels

• Input Gain: Use the GAIN knobs for Input 1 and Input 2 to adjust the sensitivity for each connected source. Start with the gain low and gradually increase until the signal is strong without clipping.
• Master Volume: The MASTER VOLUME knob controls the overall output level of the loudspeaker. Adjust this to achieve the desired listening volume.

3. Using the Integrated Mixer

The Thump12A features a 2-channel mixer. Each channel has independent gain control. The mixer also includes a 3-band EQ with variable mid-range control and a high-pass filter for each input, allowing you to shape the sound for different sources.

4. Linking Loudspeakers

To expand your sound system, connect the XLR OUTPUT of one Thump12A loudspeaker to an input of another Thump12A loudspeaker using an XLR-XLR cable. This allows you to send the mixed signal from the first speaker to additional speakers.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

Clean the exterior of the loudspeaker with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes. Ensure no liquids enter the speaker grille or control panel.

2. Storage

When not in use, store the loudspeakers in a cool, dry environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If transporting, use appropriate protective covers or cases.

3. Inspection
