2. Safety Instructions
Always observe basic safety precautions when using electrical appliances to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury.
- Electrical Safety: Ensure the voltage indicated on the appliance matches your local mains voltage. Do not immerse the kettle, power base, cord, or plug in water or other liquids. Do not operate the kettle with a damaged cord or plug.
- Hot Surfaces: The kettle's exterior features a double-wall design to keep it relatively cool, but the interior and steam can still be very hot. Always handle with care and avoid contact with steam.
- Water Level: Do not fill the kettle above the 'MAX' mark or below the 'MIN' mark. Overfilling may cause boiling water to spill out, while underfilling can cause the kettle to dry-boil.
- Placement: Place the kettle on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the countertop and out of reach of children. Do not place near hot gas or electric burners, or in a heated oven.
- Children and Supervision: This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
- Dry-Boil and Overheat Protection: The kettle is equipped with dry-boil and overheat protection. If the kettle is accidentally switched on without water or with insufficient water, it will automatically switch off. Allow it to cool down before refilling.
- Intended Use: This kettle is intended for boiling water only. Do not use it for heating other liquids or food.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance will prolong the life of your kettle.
- Before Cleaning: Always unplug the kettle from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may scratch the surface.
- Interior Cleaning/Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) may build up inside the kettle, especially in hard water areas. To descale:
- Fill the kettle with a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:2 ratio) or a commercial descaling solution.
- Boil the mixture and let it stand for at least 30 minutes, or longer if the limescale is heavy.
- Pour out the mixture and rinse the interior thoroughly with fresh water several times.
- For stubborn deposits, gently scrub with a non-abrasive brush.
- Lime Filter: The kettle includes a lime filter. This filter can be removed and rinsed under running water to clean any accumulated limescale. Ensure it is properly reinserted before use.
- Storage: When not in use, store the kettle in a dry place. You can wrap the power cord around the base for tidy storage.
