Maintenance

Battery Replacement

Although the calculator uses solar power, the AA battery provides backup. Replace the battery when the display becomes dim or erratic, especially in low-light conditions. Refer to the "Battery Installation" section under Setup for detailed steps.

Cleaning

To clean the calculator, wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or spray directly onto the calculator, as this may damage the display or keys.

Storage

Store the calculator in its rigid case when not in use to protect it from dust, scratches, and impacts. Avoid exposing the calculator to extreme temperatures or humidity.

Troubleshooting

  • Display is blank or dim:
    • Ensure the calculator is in a well-lit area for solar power.
    • Check if the AA backup battery needs replacement.
  • Incorrect calculations:
    • Verify the input values and the sequence of operations.
    • Check the current mode (e.g., DEG, RAD, GRAD) and adjust if necessary.
    • Consider resetting the calculator if persistent errors occur.
  • Calculator is unresponsive:
    • Press the ON button.
    • If unresponsive, try pressing the RESET button (usually a small button on the back, requiring a thin object like a paperclip). Note that resetting may clear memory contents.
