3.2 Water Resistance

The Timex Ironman Triathlon Classic 30 is water resistant to 100 meters (330 feet). This makes it suitable for swimming, showering, and snorkeling. Important: Do not press any buttons while the watch is submerged or wet, as this can compromise the water resistance. It is not designed for scuba diving.

To access the chronograph, press 'MODE' until 'CHRONO' is displayed. Press 'START/SPLIT' to begin timing. Press 'START/SPLIT' again to record a lap time (up to 30 laps). Press 'STOP/RESET' to pause the chronograph. To reset, press and hold 'STOP/RESET'.

3.4 Dual Time Zone (T2)

Your watch can display a second time zone. To set T2, navigate to the T2 display mode using 'MODE'. Press and hold 'SET/RECALL' to adjust the T2 time, similar to setting the main time. This is useful for travelers.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Battery Replacement

The Timex Ironman Triathlon Classic 30 watch is powered by one Lithium Metal battery (included). When the display becomes dim or functions are erratic, it's time to replace the battery. It is highly recommended to have the battery replaced by a professional watch repair service or an authorized Timex service center to ensure the watch's water resistance is maintained.

4.2 Cleaning and Care

  • To clean the watch, use a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the watch case, crystal, or strap.
  • After exposure to salt water or chlorinated water, rinse the watch thoroughly with fresh water and dry it with a soft cloth.
  • Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) for prolonged periods, as this can affect battery life and display performance.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Common Issues and Solutions

  • Blank or Faint Display: This usually indicates a low battery. Replace the battery as described in the Maintenance section. If the issue persists after battery replacement, contact customer support.
  • Buttons Unresponsive: Ensure the watch is completely dry. If buttons are still unresponsive, there might be internal moisture or a mechanical issue. Do not attempt to open the watch; contact customer support.
  • Alarm Not Sounding: Verify that the alarm is correctly set and activated in the alarm mode. Check that the alarm volume is not muted (if applicable, though most digital watches have a fixed alarm tone).
  • Inaccurate Time: If the time is consistently inaccurate, it may be due to a very low battery or a need to reset the watch. Follow the time setting instructions carefully.
