Setup

1. Attaching the Dust Collection Bag

2. Attaching the Sanding Disc

The sander uses 125mm hook-and-loop sanding discs.

1. Ensure the sander is turned off and the battery is removed.
2. Align the holes on the sanding disc with the holes on the sanding pad.
3. Press the sanding disc firmly onto the pad to secure it.

3. Inserting the Battery

This sander is part of the BLACK+DECKER POWER CONNECT 18V system. Battery and charger are sold separately.

1. Ensure the sander is turned off.
2. Slide a charged 18V POWER CONNECT battery pack into the battery port until it locks into place.
3. To remove the battery, press the release button and slide the battery out.

Operating Instructions

1. Turning On and Off

1. To turn the sander on, slide the On/Off switch to the "On" position.
2. To turn the sander off, slide the On/Off switch to the "Off" position.

2. Sanding Technique

For best results and to avoid damaging the workpiece:

• Hold the sander firmly with both hands.
• Place the sander flat on the workpiece before turning it on.
• Apply light, even pressure. Let the tool do the work.
• Move the sander in overlapping circular or elliptical patterns.
• Avoid tilting the sander, as this can create uneven surfaces or gouges.
• Do not apply excessive pressure, as this can slow the motor, reduce sanding efficiency, and damage the sanding pad.

3. Dust Management

The integrated dust collection system helps keep your workspace cleaner. For optimal dust collection, ensure the dust bag is properly attached and emptied regularly.

• Empty the dust bag when it is about two-thirds full to maintain effective dust collection.
• For heavy dust production, consider connecting the sander to an external vacuum cleaner (adapter may be required, sold separately).

Maintenance

1. Emptying the Dust Bag

Regularly empty the dust bag to ensure efficient dust collection and prevent clogging.

1. Remove the dust bag from the sander.
2. Open the bag and empty its contents into a waste receptacle.
3. Reattach the dust bag securely to the sander.

2. Cleaning the Sander

Keep the tool clean for optimal performance and longevity.
