3. Setup
3.1 Charging the Device

3.4 Calibration

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Scanning a Color
- Ensure the ColorReader is paired with your mobile device and the app is open.
- Place the ColorReader firmly and flat against the surface you wish to scan.
- Initiate the scan through the mobile application. The device will capture the color data.

4.2 Viewing Color Matches and Data
After a scan, the app will display the top 3 paint color matches from various paint brands, along with precise color data. This data includes Delta E, CIE Lab, RGB, Hex, CMYK, LRV, and LCH measurements, as well as RAL standards. Colors can also be converted to Pantone equivalents.

4.3 Exploring Color Palettes
Tap on a matched color within the app to access coordinating color options and complete color palettes. This feature assists in design and color scheme development.


4.4 Quality Control (QC) Mode
The app includes a QC Mode for evaluating color consistency. This mode allows users to compare scanned colors against a standard and determine if they fall within acceptable tolerance levels.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the device's surface or internal components.
5.2 Battery Care
The ColorReader contains a Lithium Polymer battery. For optimal battery life, avoid extreme temperatures and store the device with a partial charge if not used for extended periods.

- Device not connecting: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device and the ColorReader is charged. Try restarting both the ColorReader and your mobile device.
- Inaccurate readings: Ensure the device is properly calibrated. Scan a flat, clean surface. Avoid scanning textured or uneven surfaces, as this can affect accuracy.
- App not responding: Close and reopen the application. If the issue persists, try reinstalling the app.
