Operating Instructions
Membranical Keys
The Membranical keys provide a precise and responsive typing experience. They are designed to offer a distinct tactile bump without the loud click of traditional mechanical switches, making them suitable for both gaming and general use.
Tuning Wheel and Multimedia Keys
Located in the upper right corner of the keyboard, the tuning wheel allows for quick adjustments of various system settings, such as volume. The dedicated multimedia keys (play/pause, stop, previous, next, mute) above the function row provide convenient control over your media playback.

Quick-Fire Macro Keys (M1-M5)
The five dedicated macro keys (M1-M5) on the left side of the keyboard can be programmed using the ROCCAT Swarm software. These keys allow you to execute complex commands or sequences of actions with a single press, providing a significant advantage in gaming.
- To program macros, open the ROCCAT Swarm software.
- Navigate to the key assignment section.
- Select an M-key and assign your desired macro or function.
- Save your changes to apply them to the keyboard.
Anti-Ghosting
The improved anti-ghosting technology ensures that multiple simultaneous key presses are registered accurately. This is crucial for fast-paced games where many keys might be pressed at once, preventing missed inputs.
Maintenance
Proper maintenance will extend the lifespan of your ROCCAT Horde keyboard:
- Cleaning:
- Disconnect the keyboard from your computer before cleaning.
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution to wipe down the surface.
- For dust and debris between keys, use compressed air.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or excessive moisture.
- Spill Prevention: While the island layout helps resist dirt, avoid spilling liquids on the keyboard. If a spill occurs, immediately disconnect the keyboard and allow it to dry completely before reconnecting.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the keyboard in a clean, dry environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
