The EZDIY-FAB Front Panel USB Hub provides convenient access to USB 3.1 Type-C and USB 3.0 Type-A ports from the front of your computer case.
5.1 Connecting USB Devices
- Identify the correct port for your device: use the USB 3.1 Type-C port for Type-C devices and the USB 3.0 Type-A ports for standard USB-A devices.
- Gently insert your USB device's connector into the corresponding port on the front panel hub. The USB 3.1 Type-C port is reversible, allowing connection in either orientation.

5.2 Data Transfer Speeds
The USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C port supports data transfer rates up to 10 Gbps, while the USB 3.0 Type-A ports support up to 5 Gbps. Actual speeds may vary depending on the connected device and system configuration.
6. Maintenance
The EZDIY-FAB Front Panel USB Hub requires minimal maintenance.
- Keep the ports free from dust and debris. Use compressed air to clean if necessary.
- Avoid applying excessive force when inserting or removing USB devices to prevent damage to the ports.
- Ensure proper airflow within your computer case to prevent overheating of internal components, which can affect overall system stability.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your EZDIY-FAB Front Panel USB Hub, refer to the following troubleshooting steps:
7.1 Device Not Detected or Not Functioning
- Check Connections: Ensure both the USB 3.1 Type-E cable and the USB 3.0 20-pin cable are securely connected to their respective headers on the motherboard and to the front panel hub.
- Verify Motherboard Headers: Confirm that your motherboard has functional USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-E and USB 3.0 20-pin headers. Refer to your motherboard's manual.
- Test with Other Devices: Try connecting a different USB device to the port to determine if the issue is with the hub or the original device.
- Test Other Ports: If one port is not working, try another port on the hub. If only specific devices fail on specific ports, there might be a compatibility issue with that device.
- Driver Installation: Ensure your operating system has the latest USB drivers installed. For Windows, check Device Manager for any unknown devices or errors.
- BIOS/UEFI Settings: Some motherboards may require USB headers to be enabled in the BIOS/UEFI settings. Consult your motherboard manual.
7.2 Slow Data Transfer Speeds
- Verify Device Compatibility: Ensure your connected device supports USB 3.0 or USB 3.1 Gen2 speeds. Older USB 2.0 devices will operate at USB 2.0 speeds.
- Cable Quality: Use high-quality USB cables. Low-quality or excessively long cables can degrade performance.
- System Load: High CPU usage or other background processes can impact data transfer speeds.
7.3 Physical Alignment Issues
- If the front panel appears misaligned or bowed, carefully check the mounting screws and the drive bay. Loosen and re-tighten screws if necessary to ensure a flush fit.
