5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Making Espresso
- Ensure the coffee maker is unplugged and cooled.
- Fill the water tank with fresh, cold water up to your desired level (e.g., '2-cup' or '4-cup' mark). Do not exceed the '4-cup' maximum.
- Add finely ground espresso coffee to the steel mesh. For 2 cups, use approximately 2 level scoops; for 4 cups, use 4 level scoops. Use the press bar to gently tamp the coffee grounds.
- Insert the steel mesh into the metal funnel, then attach the metal funnel to the brewing head by aligning it and turning it to the 'LOCK' position.
- Place the carafe with its cover on the drip tray, ensuring the carafe cover is positioned to direct coffee into the carafe.
- Plug the appliance into a suitable electrical outlet.
- Turn the Steam Knob to the 'Espresso' (left) position. The indicator light will illuminate, indicating heating.
- Once the indicator light turns off, the brewing process will begin. Coffee will start to drip into the carafe.
- When the desired amount of coffee has been brewed, or when the water tank is empty, turn the Steam Knob to the 'OFF' position.
- Unplug the coffee maker and carefully remove the carafe. Serve immediately.
5.2 Frothing Milk for Cappuccino/Latte
After brewing espresso, you can froth milk:
- Ensure there is still water in the tank or refill it if necessary.
- Fill a small pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to about one-third full.
- Position the frothing device over the drip tray or into the pitcher of milk.
- Turn the Steam Knob to the 'Cappuccino' (right) position. The indicator light will illuminate.
- Wait for the indicator light to turn off, indicating the steam is ready.
- Submerge the tip of the frothing device just below the surface of the milk.
- Slowly lower the pitcher as the milk froths, keeping the tip just below the surface to create foam.
- Once the desired amount of foam is achieved, turn the Steam Knob to the 'OFF' position.
- Carefully remove the pitcher. Wipe the frothing device immediately with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying.

- Discard the solution. Rinse the water tank thoroughly with fresh water.
- Perform at least two full brewing cycles with fresh, cold water to rinse out any residual descaling solution.
