1. Introduction

2. Setup

2.1 Powering the Device

The Technoline WT 496 alarm clock is powered by batteries. It requires 4 AAA batteries (not included).

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back or bottom of the alarm clock.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert 4 new AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Upon inserting batteries, the clock will automatically attempt to synchronize with the DCF-77 radio signal to set the correct time, date, and day of the week. This process may take a few minutes.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Time and Date Display

The clock automatically displays the current time, date, and day of the week once synchronized with the DCF-77 signal. No manual adjustment is typically required for these basic functions.

3.2 Setting Alarms

The WT 496 allows you to set up to 5 distinct alarms, each with flexible scheduling options.

  1. Press the Alarm Set button (refer to your device's physical buttons for exact labeling).
  2. Use the Up/Down buttons to select which of the 5 alarms you wish to set (e.g., Alarm 1, Alarm 2).
  3. Press Alarm Set again to confirm your alarm selection.
  4. Use Up/Down to set the desired alarm time (hour and minute).
  5. Press Alarm Set to move to the alarm scheduling option.
  6. Use Up/Down to choose one of the four alarm options:
    • Monday to Sunday (Every Day): Alarm sounds daily.
    • Monday to Friday (Weekdays): Alarm sounds on weekdays only.
    • Saturday and Sunday (Weekend): Alarm sounds on weekends only.
    • Specific Day: Alarm sounds only on a chosen specific date (e.g., for a birthday reminder).
  7. Press Alarm Set to save the alarm settings.

3.3 Snooze Function

When an alarm sounds, press the Snooze button (usually a large button on top) to temporarily silence the alarm. The alarm will sound again after a short interval (typically 5 minutes).

3.4 Night Light Function

The alarm clock features an optional night light. This function illuminates the display for easy viewing in dark conditions. Consult your device's specific buttons for activating and deactivating the night light, or if it activates automatically based on ambient light.

3.5 Volume Control

4. Maintenance
