1. Introduction

2. Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:

  • Read all instructions before using this appliance.

  • Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present.
  • Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
  • Do not use without dust bin and/or filters in place.
  • Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to battery pack, picking up or carrying the appliance.
  • Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.
  • Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
  • Do not use an appliance that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.
  • Do not expose an appliance to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 130°C (265°F) may cause explosion.
  • Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the appliance outside of the temperature range specified in the instructions. Charging improperly or at temperatures outside of the specified range may damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.
  • Have servicing performed by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the product is maintained.

3. Setup and Initial Use

3.1 Unpacking and Assembly

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. The vacuum cleaner is typically supplied in three main parts: the main body (motor and dust bin), the handle, and the Delta Slim head.

  1. Attach the handle to the main body. Ensure it clicks securely into place. Some models may require a screw to be inserted and tightened for a firm connection.
  2. Connect the Delta Slim vacuum head to the bottom of the main body. Push firmly until it locks.
  3. Ensure the dust bin is correctly installed and secured.

3.2 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the appliance.

  • Locate the charging port on the appliance.
  • Connect the charger to the appliance and plug it into a suitable power outlet.

4. Operation

4.1 Powering On/Off and Speed Settings

The Rowenta RH8929 features multiple speed settings to adapt to different cleaning needs.

  • To turn on the vacuum, press the power button located on the handle.
  • Cycle through the 3 available speed settings (minimum, medium, maximum/turbo) by pressing the speed selection button.
  • For general cleaning, the minimum or medium setting is often sufficient.
  • For stubborn dirt or high-traffic areas, select the maximum/turbo speed.
  • To turn off the vacuum, press the power button again.

4.2 Cleaning Techniques

  • General Cleaning: Move the vacuum cleaner slowly and steadily across the floor. The triangular shape of the Delta Slim head allows for efficient cleaning in corners and along edges.
  • Under Furniture: The ultra-slim design of the vacuum head allows it to easily glide under low furniture.
  • Carrying: Use the integrated handle for convenient transport, especially when cleaning stairs.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your vacuum cleaner. Always ensure the appliance is turned off and unplugged before performing any maintenance.

5.1 Emptying the Dust Bin

The dust bin has a capacity of 0.5 liters. Empty it regularly to maintain suction power.

  1. Press the release button to detach the dust bin from the main body.
  2. Open the dust bin lid, typically by pressing a lever, and empty the contents into a waste bin.
  3. Close the lid and reattach the dust bin to the vacuum cleaner, ensuring it clicks securely.

5.2 Cleaning the Filter

The vacuum cleaner uses a foam filter. Clean it regularly to prevent clogging and maintain performance.

  1. Remove the dust bin as described above.
  2. Extract the foam filter from the dust bin.
  3. Rinse the filter under running water until clean. Do not use detergents.
  4. Allow the filter to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before reinserting it. Do not use the vacuum with a wet filter.

5.3 Cleaning the Brush Roll

Hair and debris can get tangled in the brush roll. Clean it periodically.

  1. Turn off the vacuum and disconnect it from the charger.
  2. Detach the Delta Slim head from the main body.
  3. Locate the brush roll access cover on the bottom of the head. Open it (refer to diagrams in the full manual if needed).
  4. Remove the brush roll.
  5. Use scissors to cut away any tangled hair or threads.
  6. Reinsert the brush roll and close the access cover securely.

6. Troubleshooting
