4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
- Align the battery with the battery slot on the back of the radio.
- Press the battery firmly into place until it clicks, indicating it is securely locked.
- To remove, slide the battery release latch (if present) and pull the battery away from the radio.
4.2 Charging the Battery
Before initial use, fully charge the battery. Use only the Hytera-approved charger and power adapter provided with your radio.
- Connect the power adapter to an AC outlet and then to the charging cradle.
- Place the radio with the battery installed, or the battery alone, into the charging cradle.
- Ensure the charging indicator light on the cradle illuminates, typically red for charging and green for fully charged.
- A full charge may take several hours. Do not interrupt the charging process until complete.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On/Off
- To Power On: Rotate the Power/Volume knob clockwise until a click is heard and the radio powers on.
- To Power Off: Rotate the Power/Volume knob counter-clockwise until a click is heard and the radio powers off.
5.2 Adjusting Volume
After powering on, continue rotating the Power/Volume knob clockwise to increase the volume or counter-clockwise to decrease it.
5.3 Channel Selection
Rotate the Channel Selector knob (typically located next to the antenna) to select the desired communication channel. The radio supports up to 48 channels.
5.4 Transmitting and Receiving
- To Transmit: Press and hold the Push-to-Talk (PTT) button on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button to stop transmitting.
- To Receive: Ensure the PTT button is not pressed. The radio will automatically receive signals on the selected channel.
