6. Installation

6.1 Mounting on DIN Rail

  1. Ensure all power to the control panel is disconnected at the main breaker.
  2. Locate an available space on the DIN rail.
  3. Attach the timer to the DIN rail by hooking the top edge onto the rail and then pressing the bottom edge until the clip engages.

6.2 Wiring Connections

Refer to the wiring diagram below for correct electrical connections. All wiring must comply with local electrical codes.

This diagram shows the terminal layout: L (Live Input), N (Neutral Input), and output terminals 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 for connecting the load. Terminals 1 and 2 are typically for the normally open contact, while 3, 4, 5 represent common, normally closed, and normally open contacts respectively for the internal relay.

  • Connect the Live (L) wire from your power supply to the terminal marked 'L'.
  • Connect the Neutral (N) wire from your power supply to the terminal marked 'N'.
  • For the load connection, use terminals 3, 4, and 5. Terminal 3 is the common contact. Terminal 4 is normally closed (NC) and Terminal 5 is normally open (NO). Connect your appliance's live wire to Terminal 5 (for switching ON) and the neutral to the neutral supply.
  • Ensure all terminal screws are tightened securely.

7. Initial Setup

7.1 Resetting the Timer

Upon first use or after a prolonged power outage, it is recommended to reset the timer. Press the R button with a pointed object (e.g., a pen tip) to clear all settings and reset the display.

7.2 Setting Current Time and Day

  1. Press and hold the C+ button.
  2. While holding C+, press W+ to set the current day of the week (MO, TU, WE, TH, FR, SA, SU).
  3. While holding C+, press H+ to set the current hour.
  4. While holding C+, press M+ to set the current minute.
  5. Release C+. The time is now set.

7.3 12/24 Hour Format

To switch between 12-hour and 24-hour display, press the C+ and H+ buttons simultaneously.

7.4 Daylight Saving Time (DST)

To activate or deactivate Daylight Saving Time, press the C+ and M+ buttons simultaneously. The display will show 'SUMMER' or 'WINTER' accordingly.

8. Operating Instructions (Programming)

The timer allows for up to 10 ON/OFF programs with various weekday combinations.

8.1 Setting ON/OFF Programs

  1. Press the PROG button (often labeled as 'P' or 'PROG' on similar models, or use RES/RCL if 'PROG' is not present, referring to Figure 1). The display will show '1 ON'.
  2. Press W+ to select the desired day(s) of the week for this program. There are 16 different combinations (e.g., MO, TU, WE, TH, FR, SA, SU; MO-FR; SA-SU; MO-SA; MO,WE,FR; TU,TH,SA; MO-WE; TH-SA; MO-FR,SA; MO-SU).
  3. Press H+ to set the ON hour.
  4. Press M+ to set the ON minute.
  5. Press PROG again. The display will show '1 OFF'.
  6. Repeat steps 2-4 to set the OFF time for program 1.
  7. Continue pressing PROG to cycle through programs 2 ON, 2 OFF, up to 10 ON, 10 OFF.
  8. After setting all desired programs, press the C+ button to return to the current time display.

8.2 Manual Override

Press the MANUAL button to cycle through the operating modes:

  • AUTO: The timer operates according to the programmed schedules.
  • ON: The output is continuously ON, overriding all programs.
  • OFF: The output is continuously OFF, overriding all programs.

To return to automatic operation, press MANUAL until 'AUTO' is displayed.

9. Maintenance

9.1 Cleaning

To clean the timer, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure no liquids enter the device.

9.2 Backup Battery

The timer includes an internal NiMH 1.2V rechargeable battery to maintain time and program settings during power outages. This battery is designed for long-term use and typically does not require replacement. If the display is blank or settings are lost frequently after power interruptions, the battery may need professional servicing.

10. Troubleshooting

  • Display is blank:
    Check power supply to the timer. Ensure the main power is ON. If power is present and the display remains blank, the internal backup battery might be fully discharged or faulty. Allow the timer to charge for several hours with power connected. If the issue persists, contact support.
  • Programs are not running:
    Ensure the timer is in 'AUTO' mode (check the MANUAL button setting). Verify that the current time and day are set correctly. Double-check your program settings for accuracy (ON/OFF times and selected weekdays).
  • Time is incorrect:
    Reset the timer using the 'R' button and then re-set the current time and day. Check if Daylight Saving Time (DST) is incorrectly activated/deactivated.
  • Appliance does not switch ON/OFF:
    Verify the wiring connections are correct and secure (refer to Section 6.2). Ensure the appliance itself is functional and properly connected. Check the timer's operating mode (AUTO, ON, OFF).
