Setup
- Connect the SSD: Use the provided USB Type-C to Type-C cable to connect the SSD directly to a compatible USB-C port on your computer. If your computer only has USB-A ports, attach the included Type-C to Type-A adapter to the USB-C cable before connecting.
- Initial Setup: The SSD may come pre-formatted for Windows. For Mac users, it is recommended to reformat the drive using Disk Utility to 'OSX Extended Journaled' for optimal performance and compatibility. Ensure all important data is backed up before reformatting.
Operating Instructions
- Accessing the Drive: Once connected, the SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD will appear as an external drive on your computer. On Windows, it will be listed under 'This PC' or 'My Computer'. On macOS, it will appear on your desktop or in Finder under 'Locations'.
- Transferring Files: To transfer files, simply drag and drop them to and from the SSD. For larger files or folders, you can also use your operating system's copy/paste functions. The SSD supports high-speed transfers of up to 550MB/s, enabling quick movement of large media files.
