4. Setup Guide
4.1 Wireless Setup (2.4Ghz Dongle)
- Locate the 2.4Ghz wireless dongle. This small USB receiver can be found in the packaging.
- Plug the wireless dongle into an available USB port on your computer (PC or laptop).
- The scanner is plug-and-play; no additional drivers are required. It should automatically connect to your computer.
- Press the trigger on the scanner to activate it. The blue indicator lights on the scanner will confirm connection status.

4.2 Wired Setup (USB Cable)
- Connect one end of the provided USB cable to the charging/data port at the bottom of the scanner.
- Plug the other end of the USB cable into an available USB port on your computer.
- The scanner will function as a wired device and also charge its internal battery. No drivers are needed for wired operation.
5. Operating Modes
The Tera 5100 scanner supports two primary operating modes:
5.1 Instant Upload Mode
In this mode, scanned barcode data is immediately transmitted to your connected computer or device. This is ideal for real-time inventory updates or point-of-sale transactions where instant data entry is required.
5.2 Storage Mode
When operating in storage mode, the scanner saves all scanned barcode data internally. This is useful when working out of range of your computer or when you need to collect a large volume of data before uploading. Once back in range or connected via USB, the stored data can be uploaded to your system.

6. Battery Management
The Tera 5100 is equipped with a 2000mAh large capacity battery for extended operation. The unique battery level indicator on the top of the scanner provides a visual representation of the remaining charge, allowing you to monitor battery status at a glance.
