6. Setup
6.1 Power Connection
The unit can be powered by AC mains or batteries.
AC Power:
- Ensure the unit is switched off.
- Connect the supplied AC power cord to the AC IN jack on the unit.
- Plug the other end of the AC power cord into a standard wall outlet.
Battery Installation:
The unit requires 6 x "C" size batteries (not included).
- Open the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the unit.
- Insert 6 "C" size batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
- When operating on batteries, disconnect the AC power cord.
6.2 Initial Setup
- Press the POWER button to turn on the unit.
- Adjust the VOLUME to a comfortable listening level.
7. Operating Instructions
7.1 CD Playback
- Press the CD/USB/LINE button until "CD" appears on the display.
- Open the CD compartment cover.
- Place a CD with the label side facing up.
- Close the CD compartment cover.
- Press the PLAY/PAUSE button (►/−) to start playback.
- Use the SKIP/SEARCH buttons (◀◀/▶▶) to navigate tracks.
- Press the STOP button (■) to stop playback.
- Press the PROGRAM/REPEAT button to cycle through repeat modes (Repeat 1, Repeat All, Random).
7.2 USB Playback
- Insert a USB storage device into the USB Port.
- Press the CD/USB/LINE button until "USB" appears on the display.
- The unit will automatically scan and begin playing MP3 files.
- Use the SKIP/SEARCH buttons (◀◀/▶▶) to navigate tracks.
- Use the FOLDER button to browse folders on the USB device.
- Press the PLAY/PAUSE button (►/−) to pause/resume.
- Press the STOP button (■) to stop playback.
7.3 Bluetooth Pairing
Standard Pairing:
- Press the CD/USB/LINE button until "BT" (Bluetooth) appears on the display. The unit will enter pairing mode, indicated by a flashing "BT".
- Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device and search for available devices.
- Select "TY-CWU11" from the list of devices.
- Once paired, "BT" will stop flashing and a confirmation tone may sound.
- You can now stream audio from your device to the TY-CWU11.
NFC Pairing (for compatible devices):
- Ensure NFC is enabled on your mobile device.
- Tap your NFC-enabled device gently against the NFC Tag area on the TY-CWU11.
- Follow any on-screen prompts on your device to confirm pairing.
7.4 AM/FM Radio
- Press the RADIO button to select AM or FM band.
- Extend the FM antenna for better reception.
- Use the TUNING buttons (+/-) to manually tune to a station.
- To auto-scan and store presets: Press and hold the TUNING buttons (+/-) for a few seconds. The unit will scan and store stations.
- Use the PRESET TUNING buttons (+/-) to select stored stations.
7.5 Auxiliary Input
- Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player, smartphone) to the LINE IN Jack using a 3.5mm audio cable (not included).
- Press the CD/USB/LINE button until "LINE" appears on the display.
- Start playback on your external device.
- Adjust the volume on both the TY-CWU11 and your external device.
8. Maintenance
8.1 Cleaning the Unit
- Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth.
