6. Setup

6.1 Power Connection

The unit can be powered by AC mains or batteries.

AC Power:

  1. Ensure the unit is switched off.
  2. Connect the supplied AC power cord to the AC IN jack on the unit.
  3. Plug the other end of the AC power cord into a standard wall outlet.

Battery Installation:

The unit requires 6 x "C" size batteries (not included).

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the unit.
  2. Insert 6 "C" size batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.
  4. When operating on batteries, disconnect the AC power cord.

6.2 Initial Setup

  1. Press the POWER button to turn on the unit.
  2. Adjust the VOLUME to a comfortable listening level.

7. Operating Instructions

7.1 CD Playback

  1. Press the CD/USB/LINE button until "CD" appears on the display.
  2. Open the CD compartment cover.
  3. Place a CD with the label side facing up.
  4. Close the CD compartment cover.
  5. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button (►/−) to start playback.
  6. Use the SKIP/SEARCH buttons (◀◀/▶▶) to navigate tracks.
  7. Press the STOP button (■) to stop playback.
  8. Press the PROGRAM/REPEAT button to cycle through repeat modes (Repeat 1, Repeat All, Random).

7.2 USB Playback

  1. Insert a USB storage device into the USB Port.
  2. Press the CD/USB/LINE button until "USB" appears on the display.
  3. The unit will automatically scan and begin playing MP3 files.
  4. Use the SKIP/SEARCH buttons (◀◀/▶▶) to navigate tracks.
  5. Use the FOLDER button to browse folders on the USB device.
  6. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button (►/−) to pause/resume.
  7. Press the STOP button (■) to stop playback.

7.3 Bluetooth Pairing

Standard Pairing:

  1. Press the CD/USB/LINE button until "BT" (Bluetooth) appears on the display. The unit will enter pairing mode, indicated by a flashing "BT".
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device and search for available devices.
  3. Select "TY-CWU11" from the list of devices.
  4. Once paired, "BT" will stop flashing and a confirmation tone may sound.
  5. You can now stream audio from your device to the TY-CWU11.

NFC Pairing (for compatible devices):

  1. Ensure NFC is enabled on your mobile device.
  2. Tap your NFC-enabled device gently against the NFC Tag area on the TY-CWU11.
  3. Follow any on-screen prompts on your device to confirm pairing.

7.4 AM/FM Radio

  1. Press the RADIO button to select AM or FM band.
  2. Extend the FM antenna for better reception.
  3. Use the TUNING buttons (+/-) to manually tune to a station.
  4. To auto-scan and store presets: Press and hold the TUNING buttons (+/-) for a few seconds. The unit will scan and store stations.
  5. Use the PRESET TUNING buttons (+/-) to select stored stations.

7.5 Auxiliary Input

  1. Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player, smartphone) to the LINE IN Jack using a 3.5mm audio cable (not included).
  2. Press the CD/USB/LINE button until "LINE" appears on the display.
  3. Start playback on your external device.
  4. Adjust the volume on both the TY-CWU11 and your external device.
