1. Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the Beatfoxx MCD-60 Vertical Stereo System. This compact and versatile audio system features a CD/MP3 player, USB playback, Bluetooth connectivity, and FM/MW radio. Its slim design allows for both freestanding and wall-mounted installation. This manual provides essential information for safe operation, setup, and maintenance of your device.

2. Safety Instructions

Please read these safety instructions carefully before using the device and keep them for future reference. Incorrect use may result in electric shock, fire, or other hazards.

  • Do not expose the device to rain or moisture to prevent fire or electric shock.
  • Do not block any ventilation openings. Ensure adequate space around the unit for proper airflow.
  • Do not place the device near heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
  • Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.

4. Product Overview

4.1 Front Panel Controls and Features

  • STANDBY Button: Powers the unit on or off.
  • VOL- / VOL+ Buttons: Adjust the volume level.
  • Previous / Next Buttons: Navigate tracks in CD/USB mode or stations in radio mode.
  • Play/Pause Button: Play or pause media playback.
  • MODE Button: Switches between input sources (CD, USB, Bluetooth, FM/MW, AUX).
  • LCD Display: Shows current mode, track information, and time.
  • CD Compartment: For inserting audio CDs.

4.2 Rear Panel Connections

  • DC IN Jack: Connect the provided power adapter here.
  • FM Antenna: Connect the included FM antenna for radio reception.
  • AUX IN Jack (3.5mm): Connect external audio devices.
  • Headphone Output (3.5mm): Connect headphones for private listening.

5. Setup

5.1 Placement Options

The MCD-60 offers flexible placement options:

  • Freestanding: Attach the provided stand to the bottom of the unit. Place the unit on a stable, flat surface.
  • Wall Mounting: The unit can be mounted on a wall using appropriate screws and wall plugs (not included). Ensure the wall can support the weight of the unit (approx. 1.1 kg). Use the mounting holes on the back of the unit as a guide.

5.2 Power Connection

  1. Connect the DC plug of the power adapter to the DC IN jack on the rear of the MCD-60.
  2. Plug the AC plug of the power adapter into a standard wall outlet.

5.3 Antenna Connection

For optimal FM radio reception, connect the included FM antenna to the FM ANT jack on the rear of the unit. Extend the antenna fully and adjust its position for the best signal.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

Press the STANDBY button on the front panel or the remote control to turn the unit on or off.

6.2 Mode Selection

Press the MODE button repeatedly to cycle through the available input sources: CD, USB, Bluetooth, FM/MW Radio, and AUX.

6.3 CD Playback

  1. Select CD mode using the MODE button.
  2. Gently insert a CD (audio CD, CD-R, CD-RW, or MP3 CD) into the CD slot with the label side facing forward. The CD will be loaded automatically.
  3. Playback will start automatically. Use the Previous/Next buttons to skip tracks and the Play/Pause button to pause or resume.

6.4 USB Playback

  1. Select USB mode using the MODE button.
  2. Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port. The system will automatically detect and begin playing compatible audio files (e.g., MP3).
  3. Use the Previous/Next buttons to navigate tracks and the Play/Pause button to control playback.

6.5 Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Select Bluetooth (BLU) mode using the MODE button. The display will show "BLU" and flash, indicating it's in pairing mode.
  2. On your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, laptop), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  3. Select "MCD-60" from the list of devices. Once paired, the display will stop flashing.
  4. You can now stream audio from your device to the MCD-60.

6.6 FM/MW Radio

  1. Select FM or MW mode using the MODE button.
  2. Automatic Station Search: Press and hold the Play/Pause button to initiate an automatic scan for available stations. The system will save found stations.
  3. Manual Tuning: Use the Previous/Next buttons to manually tune to desired frequencies or navigate through saved stations.

6.7 AUX Input

  1. Select AUX mode using the MODE button.
  2. Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player, smartphone) to the AUX IN jack on the rear of the MCD-60 using a 3.5mm audio cable (not included).
  3. Audio from the connected device will now play through the MCD-60. Control playback from your external device.

6.8 Volume Control

Adjust the volume using the VOL- and VOL+ buttons on the unit or the remote control.

6.9 Equalizer

The MCD-60 features an integrated equalizer. Press the EQ button on the remote control to cycle through preset equalizer modes (e.g., Pop, Rock, Classic, Jazz, Flat) to optimize sound for different music genres.

6.10 Remote Control

The included remote control provides full functionality for operating the MCD-60 from a distance. Ensure the remote control has batteries inserted correctly and is pointed towards the front of the stereo system.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

  • Always unplug the device from the power outlet before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior surfaces of the unit.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish.
  • For the CD lens, use a specialized CD lens cleaning kit.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your MCD-60, please refer to the following table for common problems and solutions:

Problem Possible Cause Solution
No power Power adapter not connected or faulty outlet. Ensure power adapter is securely connected and the outlet is functional.
No sound Volume too low, incorrect mode selected, or headphones connected. Increase volume. Select the correct input mode. Disconnect headphones if using speakers.
CD skipping or not playing CD is dirty, scratched, or inserted incorrectly. Clean the CD with a soft cloth. Check for deep scratches. Reinsert the CD correctly.
Bluetooth not connecting Device not in pairing mode, or too far from the unit. Ensure MCD-60 is in Bluetooth pairing mode. Move your device closer (within 10m). Try unpairing and re-pairing.
Poor radio reception Antenna not extended or positioned correctly. Interference. Extend and adjust the FM antenna. Move the unit away from other electronic devices.
