Operating Instructions

Preparing the Chainsaw Chain:

  1. Remove the chainsaw chain from the chainsaw. Clean the chain thoroughly to remove any dirt, sawdust, or debris.
  2. Inspect the chain for any damaged or missing cutters. Replace the chain if necessary.

Sharpening Process:

  1. Adjusting the Vise: Place the chain into the vise. Adjust the vise to securely hold the chain, ensuring the cutter to be sharpened is positioned correctly under the grinding wheel. The hydraulic clamping system will assist in holding the chain firmly.
  2. Setting Sharpening Angles: Adjust the grinding angle, tilt angle, and depth stop according to the specifications for your chainsaw chain. Refer to your chainsaw chain manufacturer's recommendations for precise angles.
  3. Power On: Plug the sharpener into a 230V power outlet. Turn on the sharpener.
  4. Sharpening Each Cutter: Gently lower the grinding wheel onto the cutter. Apply light, consistent pressure. Sharpen each cutter with one or two passes until a sharp edge is achieved. Ensure all cutters on one side are sharpened before proceeding to the other side.
  5. Depth Gauge Adjustment: After sharpening the cutters, check the depth gauges. If necessary, use a flat file and depth gauge tool to file down the depth gauges to the correct height.
  6. Repeat for Other Side: Adjust the vise and grinding angles for the opposite side of the chain and repeat the sharpening process for all remaining cutters.
  7. Power Off and Unplug: Once all cutters are sharpened, turn off the sharpener and unplug it from the power source.
