6. Operation
6.1. Display Overview
The digital display typically shows three main readings:
- Top Section: Current Time
- Middle Section: Indoor Temperature
- Bottom Section: Outdoor Temperature (from the external sensor)
6.2. Setting the Time
(Assuming standard button labels based on image and common thermometer designs)
- Press the MODE button repeatedly until the time display starts flashing or enters time setting mode.
- Use the ADJ (Adjust) or SET button to cycle through hours, minutes, and possibly 12/24-hour format.
- Use the UP or DOWN buttons (or similar labeled buttons) to adjust the values.
- Press MODE again to confirm and exit time setting.
6.3. Switching Temperature Units (°C/°F)
To switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit, locate the °C/°F button (or a similar labeled button) on the unit, usually on the back or near the other control buttons. Press it once to toggle the display unit.
6.4. Maximum/Minimum Temperature Memory
The thermometer automatically records the highest and lowest temperatures measured since the last reset.
- Press the MAX/MIN button once to display the maximum recorded indoor and outdoor temperatures.
- Press MAX/MIN again to display the minimum recorded indoor and outdoor temperatures.
- To clear the maximum/minimum records, press and hold the RESET button (often labeled as CLEAR or integrated with MAX/MIN) while the MAX/MIN values are displayed. The memory will reset to the current temperatures.
6.5. Temperature Trend Indicator
The display may show small arrow icons next to the temperature readings. These arrows indicate the temperature trend:
- Up Arrow (↑): Temperature is rising.
- Down Arrow (↓): Temperature is falling.
- Horizontal Arrow (→): Temperature is stable.
6.6. Alarm Function
The thermometer includes an alarm function. Refer to the specific button labels on your device (e.g., ALARM, SET ALARM) for detailed instructions on setting and activating the alarm. Typically, you would press an alarm button, then use adjust buttons to set the desired alarm time, and press the alarm button again to activate/deactivate it.

7.1. Cleaning
To clean the thermometer unit, wipe it gently with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the unit in water. Ensure the outdoor sensor probe is kept clean for accurate readings.
7.2. Battery Replacement
When the display becomes dim or the device stops functioning, it is time to replace the battery. Follow the steps in Section 5.1 (Battery Installation) to replace the LR3 (AAA) battery. Dispose of used batteries responsibly according to local regulations.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No display or dim display | Dead or incorrectly installed battery. | Replace the battery with a new LR3 (AAA) battery, ensuring correct polarity. |
| Outdoor temperature not displayed or incorrect | Outdoor sensor cable not connected properly or damaged. | Check the connection of the outdoor sensor cable to the main unit. Ensure the sensor probe is not damaged and is placed in a suitable location. |
| Inaccurate temperature readings | Sensor exposed to direct sunlight, heat sources, or moisture. | Relocate the indoor unit and/or outdoor sensor to a shaded, well-ventilated area away from direct heat or cold sources. |
| Buttons unresponsive | Temporary software glitch or low battery. | Remove and reinsert the battery to perform a soft reset. If the issue persists, replace the battery. |
