Installation Instructions

Step 1: Prepare for Installation

  1. Turn off the electrical power at the main fuse box or circuit breaker.
  2. Remove the old fixture and any existing mounting hardware.
  3. Carefully unpack your new fixture and lay out all the parts on a clear area. Be careful not to lose any small parts necessary for installation.

Step 2: Mount the Fixture

  1. Attach the mounting plate to the outlet box using the provided mounting screws. Ensure the plate is securely fastened.
  2. Determine the desired hanging height for the chandelier. Adjust the chain length by removing links as needed.
  3. Thread the fixture wires through the chain, canopy, and stem.
  4. Attach one end of the chain to the fixture loop and the other end to the canopy loop.

Step 3: Wire the Fixture

  1. Connect the bare copper ground wire from the fixture to the ground wire from the outlet box (usually green or bare copper) using a wire nut.
  2. Connect the white wire from the fixture to the white (neutral) wire from the outlet box using a wire nut.
  3. Connect the black wire from the fixture to the black (hot) wire from the outlet box using a wire nut.
  4. Ensure all wire connections are secure and tuck them carefully into the outlet box.
  5. Slide the canopy up against the ceiling and secure it with the provided screws or decorative nuts.

Step 4: Install Light Bulbs

  1. Insert six (6) candelabra base bulbs (B10 type, 60 watts maximum each) into the sockets. Do not exceed the maximum wattage.

  1. Restore power at the main fuse box or circuit breaker.
  2. Test the fixture to ensure proper operation.

Operating Instructions

Once installed, the Fontayne Six-Light Chandelier operates like any standard light fixture. Control the light using the wall switch connected to the fixture's circuit. This fixture is designed for on/off functionality and does not include integrated dimming capabilities unless connected to a compatible dimmer switch (sold separately).

Maintenance

Cleaning

  • Always disconnect power before cleaning.
  • To clean the fixture, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, polishes, or solvents as they may damage the finish.

Bulb Replacement

  • Ensure power is disconnected at the circuit breaker before replacing bulbs.
  • Allow bulbs to cool completely before touching them.
  • Unscrew the old bulb and replace it with a new B10 candelabra base bulb, not exceeding 60 watts.
