1. Introduction

The Smatree SP180 Portable Charging Station is designed to provide convenient and efficient power for DJI Mavic Pro and Mavic Platinum Intelligent Flight Batteries. This portable power bank offers a large capacity to extend your drone's flight time and includes additional USB outputs for charging other devices.

3. Setup

3.1 Initial Charging of the SP180

  1. Connect the original DJI Mavic charger or a compatible Smatree Mavic charger (not included) to the SP180's input port.
  2. Plug the charger into a power outlet.
  3. The Power Station LED Indicators will illuminate sequentially, indicating the charging progress. All LEDs will be solid when fully charged.
  4. A full charge for the SP180 typically takes 6-7 hours.

3.2 Compatibility

The Smatree SP180 is compatible with original DJI Mavic Pro and Mavic Platinum Intelligent Flight Batteries ONLY. It is not compatible with Mavic 2 Pro or Mavic 2 Zoom batteries.

4. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to charge your drone batteries and other devices.

4.1 Charging DJI Mavic Batteries

  1. Ensure the SP180 is sufficiently charged.
  2. Press the On/Off button to activate the charging station.
  3. Insert up to two DJI Mavic Pro/Platinum Intelligent Flight Batteries into the charging channels. Ensure they are seated correctly.
  4. The SP180 will begin charging the batteries simultaneously. The battery's own LED indicators will show charging status.
  5. Charging two batteries takes approximately 60-70 minutes.

4.2 Using USB Outputs

  1. Connect your remote controller, mobile phone, or tablet to one of the two USB output ports using a compatible USB cable.
  2. The SP180 will provide 5V/2A power to charge your device.

5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your charging station.

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the charging station. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the SP180 in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: For optimal battery health, avoid attempting to charge drone batteries immediately after heavy use when they are still warm. Allow batteries to cool down before inserting them into the charging station.
  • Cable Management: Ensure charging cables are not bent or crimped to prevent damage.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Smatree SP180, refer to the following common problems and solutions.

6.1 SP180 Not Charging

  • Check Power Connection: Ensure the charging cable is securely connected to the SP180's input port and the power outlet.
  • Verify Charger: Use the original DJI Mavic charger or a compatible Smatree charger.
  • LED Indicators: If no LEDs illuminate, the SP180 may be completely drained or there is a power supply issue.

6.2 Drone Batteries Not Charging

  • SP180 Power Level: Ensure the SP180 has sufficient charge. Press the On/Off button to check its LED indicators.
  • Battery Seating: Verify that the Mavic batteries are correctly and firmly seated in the charging channels.
  • Battery Temperature: Mavic batteries will not charge if they are too warm. Allow them to cool down before attempting to charge.
  • On/Off Button: Ensure the SP180 is turned on by pressing the On/Off button. Some users report needing to press the button repeatedly if batteries are warm.
  • Battery Compatibility: Confirm you are using original DJI Mavic Pro/Platinum Intelligent Flight Batteries. The SP180 is not compatible with other models.

6.3 USB Output Not Working

  • SP180 Power Level: Ensure the SP180 has sufficient charge.
  • USB Cable: Try a different USB cable to rule out a faulty cable.
