Setup

1. Battery Installation

2. Pairing the Remote to Your DIRECTV Genie Receiver (RF Mode)

To enable RF (Radio Frequency) control, allowing you to operate your receiver without direct line-of-sight, follow these steps:

Point the remote at your DIRECTV receiver.
Simultaneously press and hold the MUTE button and the SELECT button on the remote for approximately 5 seconds.
Release the buttons when the green light on the remote blinks twice.
Using the number pad on the remote, enter the code 961.
Press the CHANNEL UP button once.
Press the ENTER button (located below the number pad).
Observe your TV screen. A message should appear indicating "Applying RF/IR Setup. Please Wait..." followed by "Your Remote is now setup for RF."
Press the SELECT (OK) button on the remote to confirm.

REPLAY	Replays the previous six seconds.
REWIND	Rewinds at increasing speeds—press up to four times.
PLAY/PAUSE	Plays the current program. Press once while the program is playing to PAUSE.
DASH (-)	Press for Guide Options while viewing On-Screen Guide. Press for playlist options while viewing playlist. Press to display last 6 digits of receiver ID, satellite signal type (SWiM or Multiswitch) and Internet status.
ADVANCE	Advances 30 seconds. Press and hold to jump ahead to the end of a recorded program.
FAST-FORWARD	Fast-forwards at increasing speeds—press up to four times.
ENTER (Input)	Press for Mini Guide while viewing your program and dismiss with EXIT. ENTER also replaces TV INPUT button: to cycle through the equipment connected to your TV, press and hold for three seconds until LED light at top turns green. Then scroll through inputs by pressing ENTER again.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

When the remote's performance degrades or the green light no longer blinks during operation, it's time to replace the batteries. Always use two new AA batteries for optimal performance.

Remove the battery compartment cover as described in the Setup section.
Remove the old batteries.
Insert two new AA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
Replace the battery compartment cover.
