Setup

1. Battery Installation

The P2 amplifier operates on a 9V battery (not included). To install or replace the battery:

  1. Locate the battery compartment release button on the side of the unit.
  2. Press the button and slide the outer casing downwards to reveal the battery compartment.
  3. Insert a fresh 9V battery, ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Slide the outer casing back into place until it clicks securely.

2. Connecting to an Audio Source

The P2 features a locking XLR / TRS combo input. This allows for connection to various audio sources such as a mixer's auxiliary send or a headphone output.

  1. Connect your audio source (e.g., mixer output) to the XLR / TRS combo input at the bottom of the P2. The locking mechanism ensures a secure connection. To release, press the small tab next to the connector.
  2. For stereo sources, use an XLR-to-TRS or TRS-to-TRS (male to male) cable.

3. Connecting Headphones/IEMs

Connect your headphones, earbuds, or in-ear monitors to the 3.5 mm (1/8") stereo output jack located at the top of the P2 unit.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off and Volume Control

The P2 features a combined power on/off switch and volume control knob.

  1. To power on the unit, rotate the top-mounted volume knob clockwise until you hear a click. The battery indicator LED will illuminate.
  2. Continue rotating clockwise to increase the volume.
  3. To power off, rotate the knob counter-clockwise until it clicks off.

2. Mono/Stereo Mode Selection

An internal switch allows you to select between mono and stereo operation, depending on your audio source.

  1. To access the switch, slide open the outer casing as described in the "Battery Installation" section.
  2. Locate the small switch labeled "STEREO / MONO" inside the unit.
  3. Set the switch to "MONO" if using a single mono source (e.g., a mixer's aux send).
  4. Set the switch to "STEREO" if using a stereo source (e.g., a headphone output from a device).
  5. Close the outer casing securely after making your selection.

3. Using the Belt Clip

The integrated belt clip allows for convenient placement of the P2 during use.

  • Attach the P2 to your waistband, belt, or instrument strap for easy access to volume control.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Care: Remove the 9V battery if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
  • Storage: Store the P2 in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting

  • No Sound:
    • Ensure the unit is powered on and the volume knob is turned up.
    • Check the battery indicator; replace the 9V battery if it's dim or off.
    • Verify all audio cables are securely connected to both the P2 and the audio source.
    • Confirm the audio source is active and sending a signal.
    • Check the Mono/Stereo switch setting matches your audio source.
  • Distorted Sound:
    • Reduce the volume on the P2 and/or the audio source.
    • Ensure the audio source signal is not too strong for the P2 input.
    • Check the audio cables for damage.
  • Intermittent Sound:
    • Check all cable connections for looseness.
    • Replace the battery.
    • Inspect cables for damage or wear.
