6. Important Notes and Safety Information
- This thermometer is not intended as a substitute for consultation with a physician. Always seek professional medical advice for health concerns.
- Forehead temperature is typically 0.5-1.0°F (0.3-0.6°C) lower than oral temperature. Average normal forehead temperature ranges from 97.0-98.9°F (36.1-37.2°C).
- If the temperature displayed is lower than 89.6°F (32°C) or if the thermometer is aimed at the air instead of the forehead, the display may show 'Lo'. Retake the temperature by aiming the thermometer at the center of the forehead, between 1.2"-2" from the skin.
- An impact or drop may damage the product accuracy. Handle with care.
- Allow the thermometer to acclimate to ambient temperature for at least 30 minutes if there is a significant change in the environment (e.g., moving from outdoors to indoors).
- Allow 3-5 seconds between consecutive measurements for optimal accuracy.

7. Normal Body Temperature Range
Normal body temperature can vary by age. The following table provides general reference ranges for forehead temperature:
| Years | 0 - 2 | 3 - 10 | 11 - 65 | > 65 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| °F | 97.5 - 100.4 | 97.0 - 100.0 | 96.6 - 99.7 | 96.4 - 99.5 |
Note: Temperature is higher than 109.4°F (43°C) is considered a critical fever.
8. Maintenance and Care
- Cleaning: Wipe the thermometer with a soft cloth. For disinfection, use an alcohol wipe or a cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol (70%). Do not immerse the thermometer in water or any cleaning solution.
- Storage: Store the thermometer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Keep it out of reach of children.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Ensure correct polarity when inserting new batteries.
9. Troubleshooting
- 'Lo' Message: If the display shows 'Lo', it indicates the measured temperature is below 89.6°F (32°C) or the thermometer was not aimed correctly. Ensure the thermometer is aimed at the center of the forehead, 1.2"-2" from the skin, and retake the measurement.
- Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the thermometer has acclimated to the ambient room temperature for at least 30 minutes. Avoid taking measurements immediately after strenuous activity, bathing, or eating. Ensure there is no hair or perspiration on the forehead.
- No Display: Check if the batteries are inserted correctly and are not depleted. Replace batteries if necessary.
