4. Setup and Programming

The RR1002 remote offers multiple methods for programming to your television.

4.1. Pre-programmed Compatibility

The RR1002 remote is pre-programmed to work with most Samsung TVs directly out of the box. If you have a Samsung TV, try operating it with the remote before proceeding with further programming steps.

4.2. Easy 2-Step Programming

For other TV brands, use the easy 2-step programming method:

  1. Enter Setup Mode: Simultaneously press and hold the SETUP button and the POWER button for approximately three seconds until the red indicator light on the remote illuminates and stays lit. This indicates the remote is in programming mode.
  2. Enter TV Code: Refer to the extensive code database provided in the full operating manual (included with your purchase) to find the 3-digit code for your TV brand. Enter this code using the number buttons on the remote. The indicator light will flash and then turn off if the code is accepted.
  3. Test Remote: Point the remote at your TV and test the basic functions (Power, Volume, Channel). If the TV responds, programming is complete. If not, repeat the steps with the next code listed for your TV brand.

Important: The setup mode requires two buttons to be pressed simultaneously to prevent accidental de-programming by users.

4.3. Learning Ability

The RR1002 remote has a learning function, allowing it to learn commands from your original TV remote. This is useful for functions not covered by the pre-programmed codes or for specific TV models.

  1. Prepare Remotes: Place the RR1002 remote and your original TV remote head-to-head on a flat surface, ensuring their infrared emitters are aligned and close to each other (within 1-2 inches).
  2. Enter Learning Mode: Simultaneously press and hold the SETUP button and the INPUT button for approximately three seconds until the red indicator light on the RR1002 illuminates and stays lit.
  3. Select Button to Learn: On the RR1002, press the button you wish to program (e.g., POWER). The indicator light will start flashing slowly.
  4. Transmit Command: On your original TV remote, press and hold the corresponding button (e.g., Power) until the indicator light on the RR1002 flashes rapidly three times and then stays lit. This confirms the command has been learned.
  5. Repeat or Exit: Repeat steps 3 and 4 for any other buttons you wish to program. To exit learning mode, press the SETUP button once. The indicator light will turn off.

Note: If the indicator light turns off during the learning process, it means the remote timed out. Re-enter learning mode and try again.
