WARNING: Risk of fire or explosion due to puncture of refrigerant tubing. Follow handling instructions carefully. Do not puncture refrigerant tubing.

Always ensure the freezer is placed on a stable, level surface. Maintain adequate clearance around the unit for proper ventilation. Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant in this appliance.

Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials. Inspect the freezer for any shipping damage. Report any damage immediately to the carrier and your dealer.
  2. Placement: Position the freezer on a firm, level floor capable of supporting its weight when fully loaded. Ensure there is sufficient space for the lid to open fully and for proper air circulation around the unit. The heavy-duty casters facilitate mobility for initial placement.
  3. Electrical Connection: Ensure the electrical outlet matches the voltage and frequency requirements of the freezer (115V/60/1-ph). The freezer is equipped with a NEMA 5-15P plug. Do not use extension cords or adapter plugs.
  4. Initial Startup: After placement and connection, allow the freezer to stand upright for at least 2-4 hours before plugging it in. This allows the refrigerant to settle.

Operating Instructions

Temperature Control

The freezer features mechanical controls for temperature adjustment. The internal temperature display allows for easy monitoring, ensuring food remains at optimal conditions.

  • Locate the temperature control dial, typically found on the lower front side of the unit.
  • Turn the dial to adjust the temperature setting. Settings range from 'Cold' to 'Coldest'. The recommended temperature range for frozen food storage is -15°F to 10°F.
  • A green "Power On" light indicates that the unit is receiving power and operating.

Loading the Freezer

Distribute items evenly inside the freezer. The included heavy-duty wire storage basket can be used for organizing smaller or frequently accessed items. Avoid blocking the internal air circulation vents.

Lid and Lock

The freezer is equipped with a lift-up lid and a lock for securing contents. Ensure the lid is fully closed after each use to maintain optimal temperature and energy efficiency. The lid forms a pressure seal when closed.

Maintenance

Defrosting

Regular defrosting is essential for efficient operation. The freezer is not designed to accumulate thick layers of ice. Defrost the unit when ice buildup on the interior walls reaches approximately 1/4 inch (6 mm) thickness.

  1. Unplug the freezer from the power outlet.
  2. Remove all food items and store them in another freezer or cooler.
  3. Open the lid and locate the defrost drain at the bottom of the freezer. Place a shallow pan or towel under the drain to collect water.
  4. Allow the ice to melt naturally. Do not use sharp objects or heating devices to speed up defrosting, as this can damage the freezer.
  5. Once defrosted, clean the interior thoroughly with a mild detergent and warm water. Rinse and dry completely.
  6. Close the drain plug, plug in the freezer, and allow it to cool down to the desired temperature before returning food items.

Cleaning

Regularly clean the exterior with a soft cloth and mild detergent. For the interior, use a solution of baking soda and water (1 tablespoon baking soda to 1 quart water) to neutralize odors. Ensure the air conditioner vents on the side are kept clear of dust and debris for optimal cooling performance.

Troubleshooting
