Setup and Installation
Module Installation
To install a 500 series module into the Midas LEGEND L6 chassis, ensure the chassis is powered off. Gently slide the module into an available slot, aligning the module's edge connector with the corresponding slot connector at the back of the chassis. Apply even pressure until the module is fully seated. Secure the module using the screws provided with the module or the chassis, tightening them carefully to avoid overtightening.

Module Linking
The Midas LEGEND L6 chassis supports linking of adjacent modules for stereo or multi-channel operations, particularly useful for dynamics processors like compressors. This is achieved via internal jumpers located on the rear panel. Consult your module's manual for specific linking requirements. The chassis links slots from left to right (e.g., slot 1 links to slot 2, slot 3 to slot 4, and slot 5 to slot 6).

Rackmount Kit
The Midas LEGEND L6 includes an optional rackmount kit and handles, allowing the chassis to be securely mounted in any standard 19-inch audio rack. This provides flexibility for both studio and live sound applications, ensuring the unit is protected and integrated into your existing setup.

Operation
Connectivity
The rear panel of the Midas LEGEND L6 offers comprehensive connectivity for each module slot. Each slot features parallel XLR and TRS inputs and outputs. Additionally, DB25 connectors are provided for inputs 1-4 and outputs 1-4, as well as inputs 5-8 and outputs 5-8. This parallel connectivity allows for flexible signal routing, enabling you to use different connector types for input and output on the same channel, or to use the rear panel as a patch bay. Channels 7 and 8 are accessible via the DB25 connectors and dedicated XLR/TRS connectors on the far left of the rear panel.

Channel Strip Creation
The advanced routing capabilities of the L6 chassis allow for the creation of custom channel strips. You can route the output of one module directly into the input of another within the chassis, enabling complex signal chains without external patching. For example, you can route a microphone preamplifier module's output into an equalizer module, and then into a compressor module, all within the chassis. This internal routing simplifies setup and reduces cable clutter.
Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Midas LEGEND L6 chassis, regular maintenance is recommended. Keep the unit clean and free from dust by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure proper ventilation around the chassis to prevent overheating. Periodically check all cable connections for security and inspect for any signs of wear or damage. If the unit requires internal cleaning or service, it should be performed by qualified personnel.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Midas LEGEND L6 chassis, consider the following troubleshooting steps:
- No Power: Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the chassis and a working power outlet. Check the power switch on the front panel.
- Module Not Functioning: Verify that the module is correctly seated in its slot and securely screwed in. Ensure the module itself is powered on (if it has its own power indicator).
- No Audio Signal: Check all input and output cable connections. Confirm that the correct input/output type (XLR, TRS, DB25) is being used for your setup. Ensure any internal linking jumpers are set correctly according to your desired signal flow.
- Noise or Hum: Check for proper grounding. Ensure all cables are in good condition and correctly balanced. If using unshielded modules, try relocating them further from the chassis's power supply section.
For persistent issues, consult the specific module's manual or contact Midas technical support.
