5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Selecting Stitches
The SilverCrest SNM 33 B1 offers 33 stitch programs. Use the stitch selection dial on the front of the machine to choose your desired stitch. Refer to the stitch chart on the machine for visual guidance.
5.2 Adjusting Stitch Length and Width
- Stitch Length: The stitch length can be adjusted between 0 and 4.2 mm using the dedicated dial. A longer stitch is suitable for basting or thicker fabrics, while a shorter stitch is for finer details or reinforcement.
- Stitch Width: The stitch width can be adjusted between 0 and 4.8 mm. This adjustment is primarily used for zigzag stitches and other decorative patterns.
5.3 Sewing
- Place the fabric under the presser foot.
- Lower the presser foot lever.
- Gently press the foot pedal to start sewing. Control your speed by varying the pressure on the pedal.
- Guide the fabric gently; do not pull or push it.
- To finish, raise the needle to its highest position, lift the presser foot, and pull the fabric away from the machine. Cut the threads using the thread cutter.
5.4 Using the 4-Step Buttonhole System
The machine features a convenient 4-step buttonhole system. Follow the specific instructions in your detailed manual (not provided here, but generally involves marking the buttonhole, selecting the correct buttonhole stitch settings for each of the four steps, and using a buttonhole foot).
5.5 Working with Special Fabrics
The SilverCrest SNM 33 B1 is suitable for special fabrics such as knits and stretch materials. When sewing these fabrics, consider using a ballpoint or stretch needle and adjusting the stitch length and tension as needed to prevent skipped stitches or fabric distortion.
5.6 Accessories
Your machine comes with a comprehensive set of 20 accessories. These may include various presser feet, bobbins, needles, a seam ripper, and a screwdriver. Store them in the integrated accessory compartment for easy access.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your sewing machine.

- Always unplug the machine before cleaning.
- Remove the needle plate and bobbin case.

- Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
6.2 Oiling
Consult your full product manual for specific oiling points and frequency. Generally, a few drops of sewing machine oil are applied to moving metal parts, such as the bobbin race and needle bar mechanism, after every few hours of use.
6.3 Needle Replacement

- Loosen the needle clamp screw and remove the old needle.
- Insert a new needle with the flat side facing the back of the machine, pushing it up as far as it will go.
