1. Important Safety Instructions

2.1 Components and Accessories

Your oven comes with the following components and accessories:

3. Setup and First Use

3.1 Unpacking

  1. Carefully remove the oven and all accessories from the packaging.
  2. Remove any protective films, stickers, or packaging materials from the oven and accessories.
  3. Clean the oven interior and accessories with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Dry thoroughly.

3.2 Placement

  1. Place the oven on a flat, stable, and heat-resistant surface.
  2. Ensure there is at least 10 cm (4 inches) of clear space on all sides (back, top, and sides) for proper ventilation.
  3. Do not place the oven near flammable materials or under wall cabinets.

3.3 Before First Use

It is recommended to run the oven empty for approximately 15 minutes to burn off any manufacturing residues. This may produce a slight odor and some smoke, which is normal.

  1. Plug the oven into a grounded electrical outlet.
  2. Set the temperature control to maximum (240°C).
  3. Set the function selector to "Traditional" mode (top and bottom heating elements).
  4. Set the timer to 15 minutes.
  5. Ensure the area is well-ventilated during this process.
  6. After 15 minutes, the oven will turn off. Allow it to cool completely before first use with food.

4. Operating Instructions

Your Tefal Mini Oven features three control knobs for easy operation: Temperature, Function, and Timer.

4.1 Control Panel Overview

  • Top Knob (Temperature Control): Adjusts the cooking temperature from 100°C to 240°C.
  • Middle Knob (Function Selector): Selects the desired cooking mode.
  • Bottom Knob (Timer Control): Sets the cooking time up to 60 minutes. The oven will automatically turn off and sound a bell when the timer expires. A "Stay On" setting is also available for continuous operation.

4.2 Cooking Modes

The oven offers 8 cooking modes to suit various culinary needs:

  • Convection (740W): Uses a fan to circulate hot air, ensuring even cooking and faster results. Ideal for roasting meats and baking multiple items.
  • Traditional (1380W): Uses both top and bottom heating elements. Suitable for most baking and roasting tasks, such as casseroles and roasted vegetables.
  • Grill (640W): Uses the top heating element for grilling, toasting, and browning. Perfect for sausages, steaks, or gratins.
  • Pastry (640W): Optimized for baking pastries, cakes, and delicate items, typically using bottom heat or a combination for gentle cooking.
  • Bain Marie (640W): A gentle heating method, often using bottom heat, suitable for delicate dishes like custards or melting chocolate.
  • Defrost (1380W): Uses gentle heat or fan circulation to thaw frozen foods.
  • Rotisserie (2 modes): For roasting poultry or other meats on a rotating spit, ensuring even browning.

4.3 General Cooking Steps

  1. Place the food on the appropriate accessory (baking tray, grill rack, or rotisserie spit).
  2. Insert the accessory into the desired rack position inside the oven.
  3. Close the oven door securely.
  4. Set the Temperature Control knob to the desired temperature.
  5. Set the Function Selector knob to the desired cooking mode.
  6. Set the Timer Control knob to the required cooking time. The oven will begin heating.
  7. When the timer reaches zero, the oven will turn off and a bell will sound.
  8. Carefully remove the cooked food using oven mitts.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your oven. Always unplug the oven and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.

5.1 Interior Cleaning

  • The oven interior is enameled for easier cleaning. Wipe the interior with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
  • For stubborn stains, a non-abrasive oven cleaner designed for enameled surfaces can be used. Follow the cleaner's instructions carefully.
  • Do not use abrasive pads, steel wool, or harsh chemical cleaners, as these can damage the interior finish.
  • Ensure the interior is completely dry before next use.

5.2 Exterior Cleaning

  • Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • The exterior surfaces can become very hot during operation; allow to cool before cleaning.

5.3 Accessory Cleaning

  • The baking tray, grill rack, and rotisserie spit can be washed in warm, soapy water.
  • Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before storing or reusing.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your oven, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
