3. Setup and Installation
Professional installation is highly recommended for this product. Improper installation can lead to vehicle damage or system malfunction. Some vehicles may require additional parts, such as an immobilizer bypass module (e.g., BLADE-AL or ADS-ALCA), which are sold separately.
3.1. Pre-Installation Considerations
- This system is designed for automatic transmission vehicles only.
- Verify vehicle compatibility and identify any necessary bypass modules or additional wiring components.
- Ensure all vehicle power is disconnected before beginning installation.
3.2. CM900 Control Module Wiring Schematic
The CM900 module requires precise wiring connections to your vehicle's electrical system. Refer to the schematic below for connection points. Consult a professional installer or vehicle-specific wiring diagrams for accurate identification of vehicle wires.

3.3. Immobilizer Bypass (If Required)
Many modern vehicles are equipped with an immobilizer system that prevents the engine from starting without the correct key. For remote start functionality, an immobilizer bypass module is often required. The CM900 module has a dedicated slot for a BLADE-AL module or can interface with other bypass modules like ADS-ALCA.

4. Operating Instructions
The CS920-S system uses a 1-way remote control. This means the remote sends commands to the vehicle, but the vehicle does not send confirmation back to the remote. The remote's LED will illuminate solid blue when a button is pressed.

5.2. System Care
- Keep the control module and antenna free from moisture and extreme temperatures.
- Avoid dropping the remote controls or exposing them to water.
- Regularly check wiring connections for any signs of wear or corrosion, especially if the system was self-installed.
6. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your Compustar CS920-S system.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Remote start fails to activate. | Vehicle not in Park, hood pin switch open, low battery, immobilizer issue, programming error. | Ensure vehicle is in Park. Check hood pin switch. Replace remote battery. Consult installer for immobilizer or programming check. |
| Reduced remote range. | Low remote battery, environmental interference, antenna obstruction. | Replace remote battery. Move away from sources of interference (e.g., power lines, large buildings). Ensure antenna is not obstructed. |
| Doors do not lock/unlock. | Wiring issue, remote battery low, system in valet mode. | Check remote battery. Verify system is not in valet mode. Consult installer to check wiring. |
| System requires programming for specific features (e.g., diesel engine delay). | Default settings may not match vehicle requirements. | Programming requires specialized tools like the Compustar OP-500 or iDatalink ADS-USB interface. This should be performed by a professional installer. |
