3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

The PRO-FIND 35 requires 4 AA batteries. To install or replace batteries:

Unscrew the battery cap at the base of the pinpointer.
Insert 4 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
Securely screw the battery cap back on, ensuring a tight seal for waterproofing.

3.2 Initial Power On

To power on the device, press and hold the power button until you hear an audible tone and the LED light illuminates. The pinpointer is now ready for use.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Pinpointing a Target

Once your main metal detector has located a target, use the PRO-FIND 35 to precisely pinpoint its location within the excavated hole or soil plug.

Turn on the pinpointer.
Slowly sweep the tip of the pinpointer over the area where the target is suspected.
Listen for increasing audio tones and feel for intensifying vibrations, indicating proximity to the target.
Narrow down the target's location by moving the pinpointer until the signal is strongest.

4.2 Adjusting Sensitivity

The PRO-FIND 35 features 5 sensitivity levels. To adjust:

Press the '+' button to increase sensitivity for deeper targets or less mineralized ground.
Press the '-' button to decrease sensitivity to minimize noise in highly mineralized ground or for very shallow targets.

4.3 Ferrous Tone ID

To utilize the Ferrous Tone ID, listen for the distinct low tone indicating ferrous (iron) targets, and a higher tone for non-ferrous targets like coins or gold. This helps in quickly deciding whether to dig or move on.

4.4 Using the Flashlight

The built-in LED flashlight automatically activates when the pinpointer is turned on, providing illumination for your search area.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

After each use, especially in wet or muddy conditions, clean the pinpointer with fresh water. Ensure all dirt and debris are removed. Wipe dry with a soft cloth.

5.2 Battery Care

To prolong battery life and prevent corrosion, remove batteries if the pinpointer will not be used for an extended period. Always use fresh, high-quality AA batteries for optimal performance.
