2. Safety Information

Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury or damage to the product:

  • Electrical Safety: Ensure the power supply matches the pump's specified voltage (AC 110-120V@60Hz). Disconnect power before installation or maintenance.
  • Installation: Only install the pump in compatible equipment as specified (400W-500W fog machines). Improper installation can lead to malfunction or damage.
  • Fluid Compatibility: Use only recommended fog machine fluid. Avoid thick or corrosive fluids, as they can damage the pump.
  • Handling: Handle the pump with care. Avoid dropping or subjecting it to excessive force.
  • No Electric Shock: The water pump core rotor and AC power magnetic core are separated, designed for safe and reliable operation without electric shock risk.

5. Installation and Setup

This section outlines the general steps for installing the 30DCB 18W oil pump into a compatible fog machine. Always ensure the fog machine is unplugged from the power source before beginning installation.

  1. Access the Old Pump: Carefully open your fog machine to access the existing oil pump. Note the connections of the old pump (electrical wires and fluid lines).
  2. Disconnect Old Pump: Disconnect the electrical wires and fluid lines from the old pump. Be mindful of any clamps or fittings.
  3. Mount New Pump: Secure the new AUCD 30DCB 18W pump in the same location as the old one. The pump may come with a mounting bracket.
  4. Connect Electrical Wires: Connect the two electrical wires from the fog machine to the new pump's wires. This pump does not require distinguishing between positive and negative connections, allowing for free connection. If the pump does not operate, reversing the wires may resolve the issue.
  5. Connect Fluid Lines: Attach the fluid intake and output lines to the new pump. Ensure all connections are secure and leak-free. You may need to gently bend existing copper pipes to match the new pump's orientation.
  6. Grounding (if applicable): If your original pump had a separate ground wire connection, ensure proper grounding for the new setup. This may involve attaching the ground wire to the mounting bracket or another suitable ground point within the machine.
  7. Test: Once all connections are secure, reassemble the fog machine and perform a test run with fog fluid.

6. Operating the Pump (within a Fog Machine)

The 30DCB 18W pump operates automatically when integrated into a fog machine's control system. When the fog machine is activated, the pump draws fog fluid from the reservoir and pushes it through the heating element, where it is vaporized to produce fog.

  • Ensure the fog machine's fluid reservoir is adequately filled with appropriate fog fluid.
  • Allow the fog machine to reach its operating temperature before activating the fog output.
  • The pump's average flow rate is 60-180 ml/min, providing consistent fog output for 400W-500W machines.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your pump and fog machine.

  • Fluid Quality: Always use high-quality, water-based fog fluid. Avoid using thick or oil-based fluids, as these can cause clogs and premature pump failure. If using concentrated fluid, consider diluting it as recommended by the fluid manufacturer.
  • Cleaning: Periodically run a fog machine cleaning solution or distilled water through the pump and heating element to prevent mineral buildup and clogs.
  • Storage: Before long-term storage, ensure the fog machine is thoroughly cleaned and drained of fog fluid.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your pump, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Pump does not operate / No fog output
  • Incorrect wiring connection
  • Clogged fluid line or pump
  • No fluid in reservoir
  • Fog machine not heated
  • Reverse the electrical wires (though polarity is not required, sometimes switching can help if initial connection doesn't work).
  • Clean the pump and fluid lines with cleaning solution or distilled water.
  • Refill the fluid reservoir.
  • Allow the fog machine to reach operating temperature.
Weak or inconsistent fog output
  • Low fluid level
  • Partial clog in pump or lines
  • Using overly thick fog fluid
  • Check and refill fluid.
  • Perform a cleaning cycle.
  • Switch to a standard fog fluid or dilute existing fluid.
Pump is noisy
  • Air in the system
  • Normal operation noise
  • Run the machine for a few cycles to purge air.
  • The pump operates at =<55 dB, some noise is normal.
