  11. Non-Stick Soleplate: Smooth surface for gliding over fabrics.

4. Setup and First Use

4.1 Before First Use

  • Remove any labels or protective film from the soleplate.
  • It is normal for a slight odor or smoke to occur during the first few minutes of use as manufacturing residues burn off. This is temporary.
  • Test the iron on an old piece of fabric to ensure no residue is transferred.

4.2 Filling the Water Tank

  1. Ensure the iron is unplugged from the power outlet.
  2. Set the steam control lever to the "Dry Ironing" position (no steam).
  3. Open the water filling inlet cover.
  4. Using a measuring cup, carefully pour tap water into the water tank up to the "MAX" level indicator. Do not overfill.
  5. Close the water filling inlet cover securely.

Note: For areas with hard water, it is recommended to use a mixture of 50% tap water and 50% distilled water to prevent mineral buildup.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Temperature Selection

  1. Check the fabric care label for recommended ironing temperature.
  2. Plug the iron into a suitable power outlet.
  3. Turn the temperature control dial to the desired setting. The indicator light will illuminate.
  4. Wait for the indicator light to turn off, indicating the iron has reached the selected temperature. It will cycle on and off during use to maintain temperature.

5.2 Dry Ironing

  • Ensure the water tank is empty or the steam control lever is set to "Dry Ironing".
  • Select the appropriate temperature for your fabric.
  • Once the indicator light turns off, begin ironing.

5.3 Steam Ironing

  • Fill the water tank as described in Section 4.2.
  • Set the temperature control dial to the "Steam" range (usually between two dots or higher, depending on the fabric). Steam is only produced at higher temperatures.
  • Once the indicator light turns off, move the steam control lever to the desired steam output (Min or Max).
  • Begin ironing.

5.4 Vertical Steam

  • Ensure the water tank is filled and the iron is heated to a high temperature setting (e.g., Linen or Cotton).
  • Hold the iron vertically, about 1-2 inches away from the fabric.
  • Press the steam burst button repeatedly to release bursts of steam. This is suitable for removing wrinkles from hanging garments, drapes, or upholstery.
  • Caution: Do not direct steam at people or animals.

5.5 Spray Function

  • The spray function can be used with or without steam.
  • Press the spray button to emit a fine mist of water onto the fabric, which helps to dampen stubborn wrinkles.

5.6 Steam Burst Function

  • This function provides an extra burst of steam for tough wrinkles.
  • Ensure the iron is at a high temperature setting and the water tank is filled.
  • Press the steam burst button. Allow a few seconds between bursts for the steam to regenerate.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

6.1 After Each Use

  1. Unplug the iron and allow it to cool completely.
  2. Empty any remaining water from the tank by opening the water filling inlet and tilting the iron over a sink.
  3. Set the steam control lever to the "Dry Ironing" position.

6.2 Cleaning the Soleplate

  • To clean the non-stick soleplate, wipe it with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner after the iron has cooled.
  • Do not use abrasive scouring pads or harsh chemical cleaners, as these can damage the soleplate.

6.3 Self-Clean Function

The self-clean function helps to remove mineral deposits from the steam vents.

  1. Fill the water tank to the "MAX" level.
  2. Plug in the iron and set the temperature control dial to the maximum setting.
  3. Once the indicator light turns off, unplug the iron.
  4. Hold the iron horizontally over a sink.
  5. Press and hold the self-clean button (if available, or the steam burst button repeatedly if no dedicated self-clean button is present) until all the water has drained from the tank, carrying impurities with it.
  6. Move the iron back and forth to help flush out deposits.
  7. Plug the iron back in and heat it to dry out any remaining water.
  8. Unplug and store once cooled.

7. Storage

  • Ensure the iron is unplugged and completely cool before storing.
  • Empty the water tank.
  • Store the iron upright on its heel rest to prevent soleplate damage.
  • Wrap the power cord loosely around the heel rest or use the cord clip if provided.
  • Store in a dry, safe place, out of reach of children.
