Setup

Follow these steps to set up your blood pressure monitor for first use:

  1. Install Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the back of the monitor and insert the 4 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  2. Connect Cuff: Insert the air tube connector from the cuff firmly into the air jack on the side of the monitor.
  3. Position Yourself: Sit comfortably with your feet flat on the floor and your upper arm exposed.
  4. Apply Cuff: Wrap the cuff around your upper arm, ensuring it is snug but not too tight. The bottom edge of the cuff should be about 1 inch (2-3 cm) above your elbow. Rest your arm on a table so the cuff is level with your heart.

Operating Instructions

The KBP-2704A monitor is designed for effortless measurement with a single press of a button.

  1. Start Measurement: With the cuff properly applied and you in a relaxed position, press the START/STOP button. The cuff will automatically inflate.
  2. Reading Display: The monitor will measure your blood pressure and pulse rate as the cuff deflates. Your systolic and diastolic pressure, pulse rate, date, and time will be clearly displayed on the large, backlit LCD screen.
  3. Irregular Heartbeat Detection: The device will automatically alert you if it detects an irregular heartbeat during the measurement.
  4. Power Off: The monitor will automatically power off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life, or you can press the START/STOP button again to turn it off manually.

Understanding Your Readings

The KBP-2704A Blood Pressure Indicator is based on established guidelines from the World Health Organization (WHO). A color-coded bar on the left side of the display helps you quickly interpret your blood pressure category:

Note: Do not be alarmed if an abnormal reading occurs. A better indication of an individual's blood pressure occurs after 2-3 readings are taken at the same time each day over an extended period of time. Consult your physician if test results remain abnormal.

Memory Function

The KBP-2704A monitor can store up to 120 readings for two different users, allowing you to track your blood pressure trends over time. Each reading is stored with the date and time.

  1. Access Memory: Press the M button to view previous readings.
  2. Switch Users: Repeatedly press the M button to toggle between User 1 and User 2 memory banks.
  3. Scroll Readings: Use the SET button to scroll through individual stored readings within the selected user's memory.
