2. Setup and Installation

3. Close the maintenance box cover and any other printer covers that were opened.

The Ink Maintenance Box functions automatically as part of your Epson EcoTank printer's normal operation. It collects waste ink generated during various processes, including:

• Print Head Cleaning Cycles: When the printer performs routine or manual print head cleaning, waste ink is flushed from the nozzles into the maintenance box.
• Initial Ink Charging: During the initial setup of a new printer, a small amount of ink is used to charge the print head, and some of this may be collected.
• Border-less Printing: Excess ink sprayed beyond the edges of the paper during border-less printing is also directed to the maintenance box.

The printer's internal system monitors the fill level of the maintenance box. When it reaches its capacity, the printer will display a message indicating that the box needs to be replaced. The printer will cease operation until a new maintenance box is installed.
